if with GPU budget around 3.5k, if no about 2.5k
will add self another 8GB RAM for 16GB

was checking some brand

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/lenovo-i...&freeshipping=1

but older gen cpu, less storage only 256GB

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/acer-asp...&freeshipping=1

but only got 4GB RAM

https://www.dell.com/en-my/shop/desktop-com...p/hdi38911150my

this look ok, offer ssd + 1TB HDD
say max support gtx1650, but no an option to select, or if can add my self, mean i need wait after GPU price normal back, is ok i can wait
and i read a lot of say Dell support very good? and Dell use own part which board, PSU cannot change own self?

take note there are 2 types of gtx1650 card. gddr5 or gddr6.
gpu price will never go back to normal. gtx1650 was rm700. now it's rm1000.
dell support is good. u can change yourself but some of the parts are proprietary parts (different shape than standard off-the-shelf parts).

Today even office use desktops we spec with 8GB of RAM. If you have 4GB of RAM. Half of it already gone to the OS . Antivirus another 300MB. You left with 1GB+ of RAM for browser + microsoft office ? Once Windows Update run at the background , the system will lag like no tomorrow.

For Dell prebuilts , the proprietary stuffs are:
1. Motherboard -> non standard form factor.
2. Power supppy -> non standard , especially the connectors and form factor. Not ATX , SFX or TFX
3. CPU cooler -> the holes are not the same as AM4 or Intel LGA spacing.
4. Casing - the power on button , reset connectors to the motherboard are proprietary.

The above stuff you have to buy replacements parts from Dell. Usually is refurbished only. Or used online from 3rd party seller.

Dell support is very good. I agree. Because even if u live in the jungles of Borneo , they will do onsite support warranty service for u. But hopefully u get 3 yrs warranty , usually stuffs can fail around 1 1/2 years if u are unlucky.

Gtx 1650 is not going to last u for 5 years. All the available local 1650 are not even the super variant.
12400f +b660 ddr4 will serve u well. Just wait for Rx 6500xt or rtx 3050 and see how it goes.

RX6500XT is gonna be trash for sure. 64 bit memory bus is a red flag already. It will be heavily starved of memory bandwidth.
Even if in non-gaming workload , RX6500 XT does not support AV1 decode which is what Youtube videos are currently moving to. So the CPU has to do it which is ridiculous , seeing all RTX 3000 series have hardware AV1 decode support.

Prices aren't likely to normalize anytime soon. Have you considered buying a console?

Amd says the memory bus is "severely limited so that miners cant mine with the card and gamers can enjoy"

topup a bit only...otherwise go full customise.

the dell system that you choose only got 1 memory slot, i5/i7 doesn't make much difference, the PSU they will give you is based upon the unit whether got GTX or not. no GTX = low powered PSU, yes you got slot to upgrade GTX later but the PSU that come factory default will probably not support.

This GTX is definitely OEM, factory ref kit, probably Dell won't change it.

good luck smile.gif

if I were you, i bite the bullet once and get going with this Dell. Otherwise can slowly slice meat off with full on customisation.

otherwise refurbished units from Dell Optiplex and HP Pro also not bad to get going. 7th gen i5 i7 available.
