I'm using aircon + printer + cordless phone from 1 single power socket. For 20+ years d.
BUT printer & cordless phone are low power consumption items. If u run aircon & desktop together, I expect every time the compressor kicks in, you'll have a blank screen for several seconds. |

QUOTE(sawhueijye @ Jan 3 2022, 12:48 PM) It depends on multiple factors:* Aircon capacity (power rating). * What devices are used in the same circuit loop (can be multiple sockets) * Wire specification & age * ... For older house without dedicated aircon points, it's very common to pull the power from nearby wall socket. This is unlikely an issue especially in bedroom when most devices are not taking high power. If you are in doubt, please ask professional to inspect. |

Depending on AC power consumption....
Basically.. not really recommended. |

QUOTE(jingyuu @ Jan 3 2022, 12:25 PM) Not really recommended but the wall wiring can support up to 21A max.. Aircon assuming 1hp is 7A Desktop assume 1kW is 4A Fan negligible Still OK provided the correct cable specs are used. |

I use extension wire and T Adapter to power air conditioner.
Pair together with laptop, mini pc, charger and printer for so many years. My room only got one power point. |

Typical Desktop PC power consumption rarely reaches 1kW even after including monitor and speaker. If it is, then he must have a super rig which always runs at peak performance. |

QUOTE(Snoy @ Jan 3 2022, 11:52 PM) 1hp Aircon consumes 3-4 A only. That's running current. Assume WCS Imax at startup 160%. Typical Desktop PC power consumption rarely reaches 1kW even after including monitor and speaker. If it is, then he must have a super rig which always runs at peak performance. Generally OK if proper cable spec are used. Of course, some joker contractor (developer crony) used elcheapo 40x0076 on a 3kW water heater.. it wont melt instantly since its copper but it heats up and melts other plastics. QUOTE(jingyuu @ Jan 3 2022, 01:25 PM) some facts you should know. when the AC compressor starts/shut off you will get a voltage spike . size depends on AC HP/current you are feeding your PC with unclean power . your PC power supply must be good grade to filter these spikes. some day in future if you notice your PC failing prematurely you can suspect this . a UPS for the PC helps with clean stable power . on the other hard if your STARS are bright ..you will have no issues for years |

Startup current is unlikely an issue for TS unless he can synchronise the startup time for both PC (awake on AC) and Aircon.Generally OK if proper cable spec are used. Of course, some joker contractor (developer crony) used elcheapo 40x0076 on a 3kW water heater.. it wont melt instantly since its copper but it heats up and melts other plastics. Powering up all of them in powerstrip (extension) like another forumer is another issue as the devices can really be turned on together and many powerstrips don't have well spec wires. |
