Hi guys,
Which type of retainer is most comfortable? Many have been suggesting clear plastic retainer but some of my friends suggested it is not lasting and need replacement after 1-2 years due to crack
Seems like there are a few other types of retainer

Invisalign retainer
and dont wash the retainer with alcohol or listerine because they will crack, if you take good care of the retainer, it can last you longer than 2 years

Getting Started

|
Im using those one piece metal wire behind teeth retainer. Dont know what is it called. Im lazy to put it on every night if its removable. Hence this "permanent" one is more suitable for a lazy me. Starting it was very easy for the glue to break off. Probably the orthodontist try to potong me. Rm50 or so putting back the glue again like every single week. Then i fed up. Went to other clinic put on glue on the retainer. Then it never came off no matter what i ate. Even crab n nuts. Only had one maintenance to one of the end due to glue wearing off after many many years

Been using the hawley type retainers since I took off my braces. Need to wash every once in a while with denture cleaning solution like polident. Fits comfortable, easy take off and back on.
I tried the clear plastic type also. Maybe it's just me but I found this type damn hard to take off from my teeth. Really not worth the trouble so I went back to hawley retainers.
