United are not a serious footballing club.. not anymore after Glazers came in..

The focus on youth is a scam.. before, only top quality youth get the spot.. now McT the 3rd choice CB for Scotland is a starter in midfield.. we all fell for it, youth courage success.. its just a ploy to save money

Bought an expensive flop? Let em sit on the bench until he can prove his worth or sell em.. thats what elite club do..
Look at Real with Hazard.. United used to do that too, Veron, Forlan, Kleberson, Djemba etc.. now? Let em play every week..

After Jose, seems like only puppets will get the seat.. Ole was one, unfortunately the evidence so far pointing towards RR is one too..

Here is something for all of you to comment on.
This was from years ago and Mou was criticised for this. What do you think now?
*
As usual, he's right.. the last non puppet manager for United.. came in, demand 4 signings, announce it to the press then got the signings.. win trophies with those 4 new signings scoring and contributing..

Ole came in, "happy with the squad, it'll be good to get the windows closed so that we can focus"..
RR after letting 5 players out on loan in January, "to speak about future players coming in doesnt make sense at this stage"..

Football Heritage indeed..

puppet or non puppet does it make a difference now? lol... still now we have came to this shit stage anyhow.... we had two non puppet managers who won us some cups but long term wise we still sucks even after winning those cups.. so who should bear the responsibility of making the managers failed or successful? in the end come back to same thing... The BOARD...
*
puppet or non puppet will make a difference going forward.. whether stuck in cycle or break it..

its easy to blame the board, part of it is the fans fault too..
its march and the season is over.. next home match is on Apr 16 against Norwich and if the stadium is not empty then it shows the fans are not that serious about keeping a high standard..
fans are the enablers for the board to act like how they been acting..

QUOTE(im.Nubis @ Mar 19 2022, 05:18 PM)
The biggest issue with United right now is not the management but the players itself. We have a lot of players who are not good enough for the team.  To make it worst is their attitude - the think they are bigger than the team and some are just to lazy to improve individually because they feel like they already at the best club in the world and the opponent should fear them. And whenever new manager comes in, they never listen to the manager but rather ganged up and create a mutiny to oust the manager. This cycle will continue unless United get rid of these players - Maguire, Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lingard, Henderson, Shaw, Greenwood & Bailly. Don't get me wrong, they are not a bad players by all means but they're toxic in the dressing room because they have been with the club for a long time (except for Maguire but he's the captain). They will thrive at other club (look at Pogba playing for Juventus, he's world class when he's not big headed).

What United should do is get rid of all these players and start fresh with Erik Ten Hag. He's well-known for bringing the best out of players and developing young talents. United have plenty of young talents - Elenga, Mejbri, Pellistri, Amad, Garner, Iqbal, McNeill, Hugill & Alvaro. Also, Ten Hag could also bring few players from Ajax with him. Remember, this guy is able to bring the best out of Donny when other managers couldn't. Same when he was coaching Ajax ex-players such as de Ligt, de Jong, Ziyach, etc. United need to to be patient and give this guy 3 years at least to develop United without any pressure to win anything especially if he decided to get rid of those toxic players. Liverpool did give Klopp time to develop his team, why can't United do the same?
*
Never been in that dressing room, dont know who's toxic and who's not.. i assume u state that these players are toxic based on the reports and press speculations..
Well, if based on reports.. according to United staffs, Bruno apparently is uncoachable, doing tactical anarchy and dont follow orders.. according to reports also Cristiano dividing players into camps.. these 2 should be on ur list as well, toxic behavior indeed

Give Ten Hag 3 years time without any pressure to win anything? Crazy.. United will be worse..
No manager should get that kind of priviledge.. the game is to compete and win trophies..
To manage a club of this stature, able to handle pressure should be one of the key traits a manager should have..
3 years with no pressure for Ole and look what United become now..

Yes Liverpool give Klopp time, doesnt mean that they didnt pressure him to win..
his 2nd season reach FA Cup final and EL final.. although he didnt win those finals, clearly it shows that he's focused on getting a cup in the bag..

After they lose in EL final, this is what Klopp said "We are not as good as we hoped so we have to carry on, we have use this experience and then we can be stronger, I'm sure that we will be stronger"..
Now compare it to how a manager with no pressure responds to cup final lost "Maybe a cup run can give you a trophy, but sometimes it's more of an ego thing for managers and clubs" <-- the following week this manager singed a new contract extension..

Pressure should always be there to keep the standards high.. this is United

Why is it Ten Hag or Pochettino? lots of better credible manager than these two out there..

Many creaming on Ten Hag and disrespecting Poch lol.. they are both more or less very similar..
Developing players? both did it.. Spending less? both did it too.. Win the league? one have, another one about to..

Imo United should get better manager than these 2.. big task ahead, only big man can carry it through..

There are 5 candidates being considered based on what I heard.

Ten Hag.
Poch.
Ancelotti.
Luis Enrique.
Tuchel.
*
Luis Enrique should get a better shout.. Treble winner, 3 years at Barca come out with 9 trophies out of possible 13.. 42 wins in his first 50 matches.. top man

Hansi Flick another top one should be in consideration.. Treble winner, 2 years at Bayern won 7 trophies with only 7 match defeats.. won the CL with 100% without defeat record..

if wanna gamble lets gamble with the best brows.gif

*
He did win United two trophies though, scored in the EL final to help secure it as well.. that was all in his first season

Last 5 years is a waste, i do agree as well, especially last 3 years when Ole's at the wheel..

But still, all these reports aint a direct quote from the guys mouth.. but as usual, hate will come out..
While some players chattin shit in interviews, dont get half of it..

Anyway, glad he will move away

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Mar 23 2022, 09:16 PM)
Ten Hag. If we go for him, whether he will success or not depends on two factors in my opinion.

What is the ask from the club of the manager?
If it is to win the League next season with the current crop of expensive players, Ten Hag will fail. I have no doubts. He is not a management magician.
If they are giving Ten Hag 3 years across 6 transfer windows to try and win the League with the job security that comes with it, I think he has a shot. But I don't know if our club can take the pain of long term planning.

What is the support structure provided to Ten Hag?
If he is allowed to bring in his coaches and technical staff to support him, he has a shot. If the structure around the manager remains the same with Murtough and Fletcher as Technical Director and Mike Phelan in whatever role he is doing now, he will fail.
*
I dont really think the club asking him to win, could be only top 4 and compete..
I do think the club very much interested with the Ajax model of being a feeder club but still domestic champ..

To me the expectation should be win a trophy, any trophy in first 2 season.. fail that, get fired..

Back when he interviewed with Spurs, they found it weird that he dont have any plans to bring any of his backroom staff..
Carrick and McKenna will be back helping him? brows.gif

Highly doubt that Ten Hag signed the contract. Verbal agreement maybe..

Wouldnt believe he got to do anything with Bruno's new contract too.. the quickest managers decide who to stay and who to sell is after 1-2 weeks of training..

Even RR couldnt decide to bench underperforming players after 3 weeks in..

Bruno from few months ago “open for option” to now “agreed new contract”, surely something have influence him to sign, either the board told him the new manager’s plan to use him as a key player for coming season, if not at his age he can just fulfilled the remaining 2 years plus 1 year extension and walk away to another club that can win trophies but that club certainly not us for now.

If above is not as per what u said, then another reason he wanted to stay is…. Money, that’s it.
*
Imo the board told him that, but i dont really think the new manager have any say..
Otherwise the new manager commitment is questionable, still under employment with current club but one foot out of the door already.. red flag imo

Plus who's gonna get Bruno anyway? Every big club got that position sorted already.. the guy couldnt hack it in Serie A and Premiera, no trophies, only stats..

for me ..

if , they replace Director of Football position from murtough to rangnink, scrap the technical director crap and give rangnick power to rebuild
- then hiring Erik tan Hag would become a positive move

but, if they keep murtough position, just use rangnick only as consultant to give advice without any power
- whatever manager be it poch or ten hag will not give u anything

...honestly, the way i see it, man utd will not give rangnick any power to decide, but just an advisor to murtuogh ..
therefore, i dont think ten hag will come. and clearly poch is clear favorite  puke.gif
*
i do think it will be Ten Hag.. he is the fan favorites..

the board will follow what the fans want, it will ensure that there will be no total backlash..

like Ole, everything is smooth.. keep failing, its okay, give him time..

Van gaal is still bitter sacked after winning FA cup. Mind you, he should’ve been sacked in disastrous december that season.
*
Talk bad about United once in awhile is not that bad.. considering the way the club treated him, sacking him in the tunnel after winning FA cup, his wife knew it before him.. he should be bad mouthing them everyday..

His disastrous December doesnt even stand at the same level as 5-0 against Liv at home and the weeks that follows.. heck even can go to holiday after got battered 5-0.. yet the other guy with no trophy get mad respect and a farewell tv interview session..

Hate the messenger all u want.. but cant deny the message, it is true.. United is a commercial club.. truth hurts i guess

Tbf I get it from van gaal pov, the club leak the sacking to the press before anyone else. That really hurts on personal level. Yup, United are badly running club and zero doubt about that. However, it is not first time van gaal talked bad about United with the bitterness tone, so I hope the club will continue to persuade ten hag to show why he is highly sought and in for long term.

As bad as the season goes, the hierarchy of the club starting to change with soon departure of woody, appointment of football director, outside consultant. Not to mention a lot of dross need to be replaces. It’ll take awhile but the off pitch is aligned with modern clubs. Let us see
*
Thats why the fact that he talk bad about United once awhile is okay, considering his arrogant character and what United did to him..
If by hearing this can sway Ten Hag to reject United offer.. then so be it, one warning and decided to pass up the offer, what kind of pussy is that?

Ten Hag is for long term? lets say United plan is for him to stay long term.. does the guy plan is to stay long term though? or is it just a stepping stone?

Woodward is gone, but those that still there are his people.. not much difference

That’s the risk United have to take it regardless of ten hag or poch. Hence, the ‘reset’ culture from the appointment of ole (which the experiment fail) but we did change in terms of structure.

Of course, there will be a yes men in the organization. Impossible to have a complete refresh start for every role unless glazers are bought out by others and revolutionize everything. It’s a bit and parcel we have to take. Who knows Vds will be keen to return after ten hag establish his role here?
*
no no no for VDS for me.. couldnt take Ajax back to being a European powerhouse .. still a feeder club, still couldnt keep their star players to stay, and about to lose their 'star' manager as well..

plus he let his manager go for an interview with other club while his club is neck-deep in the title race? what a cuck move..

QUOTE(aaron1717 @ Mar 29 2022, 01:51 PM)
doesnt reli matter who we hire, i doubt any world class manager can bring us back to EPL glory within 3 seasons... anything more than that we just tipu ourselves and consider as long term... unless we suddenly chg it to given more power to the manager like how pool owners did to klopp...  lol
*
winning the league within 3 seasons might be a stretch, but winning a trophy is not.. any good manager can at least get this team a league cup or two in 2 seasons

do you think the glazers is the problem, or all this while they were listening to murtuogh?
poch, kane, haaland, sancho, maguire,.. these list i believe were coming from their scout system previously headed by this guy, and now the same guy is in that director position.  doh.gif

on this poch thing ..rio now join the buddies bandwagon
..gnev, butt, rio, lineker, all recommend poch

scholes more into tuchel and conte ..
*
I think its the Glazers and Murtough.. like u said, all those targets and signings was under this guy supervision..

These ex-players have inside connections.. Rio swing vote might be because of the latest info that he got from inside.. what it is? i dont know.. many theories on this, some said they got insider info as well.. i think all just speculations..

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Mar 30 2022, 08:36 AM)
To be fair, Ajax was never a major European football powerhouse and never intended to be. Their footballing model has always been the development of young players and subsequent export of those players to sustain the economics. They are one of the premier European footballing academies. In fact, they were doing what Dortmund has been doing for years.

Even during their glory days in the 90s, they won the European Cup in '95 with a squad of young players who subsequently departed for other clubs. Ajax's success is measured in their ability to remain competitive in their League while producing star players who can be sold.

I cannot say for the 3 European Cup wins from '71 - '73 as that is a little before my time and probably when Cryuff was at the peak of his powers.
*
it was before my time too.. but the fact is they were a European Powerhouse back then.. unlike Real Madrid, they okay with being a feeder club instead of keeping the status and standard high..

now what is so good about VDS as a CEO that United fans wanted him so bad? keeping the 'feeder club' status alive n strong is not that hard isnt it..

what else is there to shout about? the special 'three little birds' kit and the marketing behind it?

QUOTE(zhou.xingxing @ Mar 30 2022, 02:55 PM)
it depends on the club management goals. like ajax or recent dortmund case, they are about sustaining while being able to provide good football. and their profits comes from selling players when they can. domestically they are still a force.

if VDS comes here definitely his goals will will similar to providing support to the manager with the players the managers want. but on bigger budgets  i.e. will not likely to sell before buy etc. RM, Barcelona and even any club in PL will have a better marketability compared to the Dutch league.
*
QUOTE(statikinetic @ Mar 30 2022, 02:58 PM)
The answer to the Ajax question is economics.

The Dutch Eredevisie is not even in the Top 5 European Leagues and commercially draws a much lower revenue compared to other European rivals. We can point out that Bayern is heads and shoulders above the competition too in their League but the Bundesliga has much higher revenues compared to the Dutch Eredevisie. How much more? Clubs like Schalke and Frankfurt earn a much higher revenue than Ajax. Ajax's entire market value as at Sep '21 is 340M Euros.
Borrusia Dortmund's annual revenue is 365M Euros. Which means Dortmund could essentially buy Ajax with just one year's revenue with cash to spare. Even clubs like Zenit St Petersburg and Lyon rank far above Ajax in economic terms.

So Ajax is essentially trapped in a small league with tiny revenues in comparison to Europe's top 5 leagues. They have to model according to their economic standing and have been very successful in that.

On the VDS question, I don't have an opinion on the CEO candidates but I think a fair number of United fans just want to see a footballing man at the helm instead of a commercials guy like Woodward. But under the Glazers, I don't think that will happen. Like Van Gaal said, which is true, Manchester United are a commercial entity first and a football club second.
*
im not arguing about Ajax standing in the world football.. its about VDS being overhyped..

what did he do? Ajax still the same, they been challenging for domestic titles before he came back.. only not in the title race 6 times in last 20 years, 3 times before he came back, 3 times after.. no difference
if he is that good, he would be spearheading the club to higher standings despite the commercial revenue challenges that u guys mentioned..

there are many other better candidates out there..
