Err, no? I think the script is very well written and it’s a parody of the real world? It’s pretty realistic on how we are going to react, the attitude of the people, the capitalism and the media manipulation that will be all our downfall.

It’s witty, funny and too close to home at times. I think it’s a smart movie, trying to make fun of the world as we know it. I mean don’t talk about comet. Just the recent covid issue is enough, and that’s what happened to all the administrations around the world, that allows covid to spiral out of control.

Stop around 40 minute mark. The humour got stale very quickly once you've gone through the set-up. I get it, against type casting of Leonardo as socially awkward scientist, Mark Rylance as Elon Musk caricature and Jennifer Lawrence as a Pussy Riot stand in. For the anti-SJW Neanderthals, this movie validates their belief that their existence is under assault by liberal Hollywood pedophiles. It's more of Adam McKay criticising media owners and political culture wars as part of the anti-science phenomenon happening in US or around the globe. Still unsure want to slog through the remaining of the movie. HBO's Veep does the political satire much more smarter than this. Then again Adam McKay is no Armando Iannucci.
