yup ebay do charge fees for posting item for sale/auction on their website. I'm not sure about ebay.com (U.S) but in ebay.com.au (Australia) they charge 5.75% on your final value that below AUD75.00 (for auction) and 10% on final value (for ebay store) and yet you have to include fees you insert the posting for your item (insertion fees) and if you accept paypal as the payment method. There will be another service charges imposed by paypal which is 3.50% + AUD 0.30 from your final value. So....you do the math smile.gif

That's y they ask the customer to put the value of what the customer paying at the shipping charge, not at the item itself.

So the customer gonna buy USD 1 for DVD writer, but pay 30 dollar for shipping.

actually its the seller who state the shipping rate, not buyer. there are some seller who try to avoid/minimise the charges imposed by ebay/paypal by using the method you mention above...(a DVD write cost USD1 but have to pay xxx for shipping which is unreasonable). DO NOT TRY IT cos its illegal and people will report you to ebay about this.

Ebay will ban you and remove the listing if they found out your shipping fee is unreasonable.

Yes, that's where you need a healthy account and maintain the balance or you can charge directly from credit card.

The charge back could be happened anytime if customers do not simply happy with the products & services, paypal will receive a feedback from ebay's customer lodged complaints, therefore. you need to be prepare everything is well undergoing.
