 Why banker's cheque cannot exceed rm5000?

Why do people use check these days? Online transfer ezpz(unless more than 50k but still, checks don't instantly transform into money).

this kind of banker's cheque is the one you bring to event like auction to prove you have money to pay

it is not obsolete at all

in year 2018, i did 40k banker cheque at CIMB, where got this 5k limit?

Don't know why, but I've seen this on CIMB's blue coloured Banker's Cheques. The red ones have no limit.

Probably low level teller not authorized to issue large amounts. Just my guess.

coz simple. they dun have hard copy of a banker cheq written from 1 to 5000
