hi sifu2 otai2 sekalian, for a new Lagenda 115z first service, what would be the ideal engine oil to choose, if wan to sayang engine in the long run? can i use the silver bottle for 1st service and change to semi/fully on 2nd service? or it will be better off to straight use fully after 1st service? planned service internal: 1st service: after 500km 2nd service: after 1500km 3rd service and ongoing: every 2000km semi, fully or silver bottle as per photo below? i would just go for fully synth but since your service interval is not that far semi pun ok. whatever tickles your wallet since kapcai service is not that expensive. just that after your warranty dah habis never tuang JTX eo in your engine or else there's people out there will pm you if want to tukar engine bearing can pm them.

Something to ponder on:
1) FULLY SYNTHETIC by definition is 100% synthetic base. This we know cock sure edy.
2) MINERAL by definition is 100% mineral base. This too we know cock sure edy and they're cheap.
3) SEMI SYNTHETIC is what exactly?
10% mineral base + 90% synthetic base = semi synthetic 90% mineral base + 10% synthetic base = also semi synthetic
For all the variations in price for the different semi synthetic offerings, it would be simpler to just buy the cheapest fully synthetic oil you can find coz at least you know cock sure you're getting 100% synthetic oil.

Personally every oil feels different. New oil makes it feels fresh. As it age's it makes the engine a bit sluggish. Mineral ages more quickly than synthetics. Even between different brands each engine oil makes the engine slightly behave differently. Some brands feels thinner thus making the engine more rev happy some feels a bit thicker so a bit sluggish.
Key is to experiment. Stick with the factory spec then upgrade the oil quality as needed to suit your service interval. My scooter uses mineral Yamaha lube @2k interval. I didn't feel any drop in power compared to when I used fully or semi at the same interval. My Y15 I use semi because despite the factory recommends 3k for semi and 5k for fully. I found that I feel the motor become sluggish at 2k for semi and 3k++ for fully. So I choose the cheaper oil and service sooner. I will splurge for fully if I plan for a long ride with my friends.
This is all based on my butt Dyno. So take it with a grain of salt. At the end of the day its your wallet and your time to service your bike. Do what suits you just make sure don't skip any of the service interval or skimp on changing the oil filter

Currently using mineral and change every 2k. Wondering if use fully can extend the interval or not, hmm.
