From the shape of it, it looks better than that Renault. And can notice the Savvy-like cabin structure. Cool.
Price it rm27k like Iswara and kiss good bye to P2.

They could just ask Gov help, twist the meaning of excise duty, and give us a rm27k sedan without voilating AFTA.

QUOTE(shinichi88 @ Oct 25 2007, 04:01 PM) how come proton got nomore nice design for their car... What can you demand more for BLM? It's suppose to be just a simple car with four tires, and at least fuel-injection (Campro 1.3 I hope). And Renault-ish feel.the front light , like the gen-2 and persona type... the back looks ugly... no aerodynamic look... they jz simply remake the cover jz the sick for money... haiz.. |

Corolla name also still using after decades, why not Saga?
Unless they still wanna sell the famous Saga for taxis and this BLM is just another new model line. Just like Gen2 and Wira... |

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Nov 21 2007, 01:23 PM) Well if it weighs the same as a Vios or City(betwee 950-1000kg), it won't be. The 1.3 is more powerful than the 1.5 in Honda City iDSI. What's more important is it torquey and zippy enough to maneuver in city area, or it has to resort to hi rev to attain what iDSI's torque in < 3k rpm. |

QUOTE(kcng @ Nov 23 2007, 10:44 AM) lol complain about power steering Really, my KE70 steering is so much lighter than Iswara powered steering. So power steering is not much use for compact sedan anyway. BLM without power steering is acceptable. then those older cars without power steering, how did they survive back then? |

QUOTE(nizam80 @ Nov 27 2007, 12:48 AM) The real milo tin is that rebadged Daihatsu Sirion/Toyota Passo. The whole full range of Viva is overpriced, not just the 989cc. Kelisa & Kenari fair so much better. I think Perodua bribe to get the Supermini category for Viva.(Joking only) |

QUOTE(nizam80 @ Dec 5 2007, 11:11 PM) Sorry, OT. Does Myvi have Variable Intake together with Cam Changing? I'm not arguing with u. I'm just asking coz between DVVT and VVTi, are there any differences. No problem bro. MyVi doesn't have variable intake manifold (it is just a dumb hot air intake), and no cam changing at all - just variable valve open-timing on the intake side - or simply just variable phasing. And on the outtake side just a dumb cam. There shouldn't be any difference as far as the description goes between DVVT and VVTi. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Dec 6 2007, 02:51 PM |

QUOTE(A1700 @ Jan 7 2008, 07:41 PM) IAFM, VIM are to improve air flow on different conditions by changing the path/width of air intake flow - longer narrower swirl path for low rev, and shorter wider straight path for hi rev. Keyword is efficiency.CPS is to have two (or more) different configurations of valve lifting (AFAIK, similar to VTEC), one for normal driving, another for crazy driving. Mainly to have more 'input' into the combustion chamber on the hi rev. Keyword is performance. |

QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Jan 18 2008, 12:09 PM) From what i can see, even 1.6 waja/gen2/persona/neo also hard to go up genting. This one 1.3? If 3rd gear cannot go up, then downshift to 2nd. Gugur engine. Can claim new engine la after that. If 2nd gear cannot go up, then downshift to 1st. If 1st gear cannot go up, the car can throw. But so far even Kancil can go up, so WTH with 1.3L? |

QUOTE(Esky @ Jan 21 2008, 05:43 PM) I find the car providing very good value for $, especially if you compare it to the Iswaras our family bought > 10 yrs ago, at RM39+k, for 1.3 (manual) with '80s technology. With that amt now, you can get the 1.3(auto) new Saga. Well, the 1st batch Saga is rm23k. After Proton Knight and Megavalve, it become rm27k. And then slowly goes up.what i don't like: - no side indicators near the front doors! (dangerous to both the driver and other road users) - "european" reversed position for wiper & indicator stalks (i prefer to shift gear with my left hand and operate the indicator with my right) I agree on the bolded part too. |
