Subaru has never been about having a nice interior. Its all about the drive. One of the most fun SUVs i have driven this XV. Everything about the drive of this XV is perfection

You hardly need awd in malaysia. We don't have snows and 99% of the suv owners hardly engage the awd as most will only see car park curbs.

I also have a awd suv and have only engage once the locking mechanism to go thru mud on an uphill stretch in sg lembing and that's it. So for rm140k, you are better off with x70 or even x50 coz what u see everyday when driving is the interior. Imagine a 80s interior staring at you for the next 5 years.

Hard to explain. Go test drive subarus, vw golf gti then u will get an idea of fun. The more cars u drive , the more u will understand what driving fun is all about.

Only the rich can afford a fun car because they have many cars in their garage already. And btw sales figures does not determine how good a car is. R u saying Ferrari or Lambo is a lousy car?

Xv drives so much better than the mazdas let alone the honda. No comparison at all. Nobody said anything about it being cheap. If a car is good and sells for 500k, ppl will still buy it. Look at how many ppl buy Lexus cars. Go ask urself why

Well, 1st gen Xv spec. is quite basic with only got 3 air-bags, VSC.

Now the latest gen Xv2 got 7 air-bags, Eyesight system, New chassis, Active Torque Vectoring + many more accessories..

With the recent global raw material price hike you wont be able to see cheaper cars in-coming.
Raw material been on the rise from last year itself 20%~70% & some even 100%.
Just look at simple car spare part pricing now, even newspaper & facebook already come out notice about the price hike since last month.

Well, its seems that your driving a part time AWD system. There are may types of AWD in market, Subaru & Audi are mostly full time AWD.
Full time AWD works even in normal driving mode and especially in winding & wet roads it will help minimize slip, understeer & oversteer. If you never encounter this few condition and drive as a normal driver, it is better you just stick to normal FWD.

Subaru Crosstrek or Xv beats CX5, Forester, CRV, CX30 & even Rav4 in term of reliability.

If your out of warranty you can purchase from eVanli group or Auto Sommet. They are able to pay using credit card online and ship to whole malaysia.
Take note that original bearing hub & backing plate is not cheap, if not mistaken the backing plate is around 250~300/pcs if both side is around 500~600 range. You might be better to keep a budget of around RM1.2k with bearing change.

There are different kind of fun.
1 is straight turbo acceleration quick fun another is winding roads handling fun.

If you driven Xv going thru corners especially hill, winding roads without putting down the brake or VSC cutting power is damn fun, watching other rides just admire you when you overtake them like nothing.

I still remember when i got my 1st Gen Xv and drive thru few winding or big corners cutting few slow pork cars in the corners and pissed 1 Satria Neo that only he can overtake me when going thru straight roads.

When you know your ride pro & con, you will know where to get the fun.

Forester mostly is family SUV, if want better handling or livelier drive Xv will be the better choice.

Just randomly check on subaru malysia facebook page (eg the dealer) there complain on the service queue is very long. Is that really true? Knowing that Subaru presence is not that big as compared to other brand.

Ever wonder why Malaysia dealer like to cut and remove features for malaysia market? Well, because too many people whining "why so expensive", "why increase price again?"... This is why Malaysia dont deserve good things. People just bitching and whining.

Radiator can be serviced, just change the top plastic cover and it can last another 5 years or 100k without issue.
If want full aluminum you can ask SBR Technic, usually they got sell aftermarket performance type.

Do take note once go into full aluminum you need to take care even more especially using the correct coolant, if use wrong type or no coolant once rusted gg full aluminum radiator. Not many people can do open & rewelding full aluminum radiator for service.

There are a lot of authorized SC in Malaysia which can service, with the recent MCO and dont know why people always like to crap to certain SC you can join Subaru Xv club Malaysia in fb and ask for advice. Until today i from northern Penang area did not complain much about it and does service & claim without much hassle from Motor Image Subaru Bukit Mertajam.

The next gen Forester XT wont be so trilling as the turbo engine already downgraded to 1.8T.
If want the best either the previous SJ with 2.0T or the SH/SG with EJ25 STI engine.

You want fun, tiquan is more fun. The low end torque is what matters in a CUV or SUV. NA unless you are talking 4 litres above engine, then it's fun.
2.0 NA on uphill to genting, if really want fun, turbo is the way. To be frank, if you are a car person, you wouldnt want a CUV or SUV, you rather get a Golf GTI or even a Renault megane as a fun car.
