Does anyone have experience with repairing imported products?

Did a little digging around various brand repair policies in Malaysia about imported products.

Sigma- seems like they have a minimum surcharge of RM600 for repairs on imported products.

Sony - Double the labor cost.

Nikon, Canon, Tamron, and Fujifilm do not have that information out. Was wondering if anyone has experience with those brands. If they do repairs for imported products.

Seems like it's good to have a thread for this for other Malaysians who are stuck overseas trying to get some camera gear there instead of importing it from Malaysia (higher delivery cost and time and my current situation )

not warranty. but just repairs.

saw Nikon saying it will deny repairs for grey market items.
But what if I do stay and work in that area for a while?
Or if it's grey market then it's grey market item no matter what they won't repair your item.

Afraid of buying lenses or camera here and not being able to do repairs when I get back to Malaysia. The warranty will be long over when I get back to Malaysia so I'm not really worried about the warranty.

why not just repair from 3rd party shop ?
