On 5CA Samsung device also hard to get above 30 mbps consistently on digi with 4 bar signal on 4G & 4G+. This in few big cities. Not sure if max speed depend on type postpaid plan?

If your phone shows up 5G and/or connected to LTE band 28 anchor band, data traffic goes through DNB's 4G/5G antenna radio instead of going straight to 6 telco's 4G antenna radio. DNB can just disable data flowing through 4G B28 (keep it on solely for signaling) and keep data traffic flowing through 5G n78 if they want to.

Not sure why they make it so difficult for 5g phones to work.

My phone is not in the supported list but 5g works. Poco x4 gt.

That's the intended behavior of DNB's MOCN setup... when you connect to DNB's network with Maxis SIM, the phone will see Maxis PLMN. Put in Celcom SIM, the phone will see Celcom's PLMN when connected to DNB network.

with Digi i can get VoLTE on B28
but not unifi mobile
more worst im using Pixel 3 and until now i didn't find a proper MBN to flash inside Pixel 3 to enable unifi mobile VoLTE under B5 / 38 / 40

This is an anchor band, which means it is unless your phone lock to this band only, and no phone call can be established for this band as well.
Your phone must fall back to telco other freq band for the phone call.

Hi, anyone tried to lock lte band 28 when subscribing GX38? able to connect to internet with a higher speed?

Recently get a 5G phone (well - because I want some form of 5G connection) and test it at my home in JB using Unifi Mobile SIM card (this is what I have right now that support 5G) - on Fast.com I got 5G speeds of up to 700Mbps on a entry level Poco M4 5G. I had download using 5G on that device and it is really smooth! Will try it around the city on few days later as I now have access to a 5G device to do long form test outdoors. Some had said that the 5G experience in JB is really good.

The data usage is painful though as there is just 10GB FUP on the so called daily "unlimited" plan!
