QUOTE(mlamlam @ May 25 2022, 02:12 PM) I don't think 5G will use microwave as its primary connections to external... because weather like malaysia , when heavy rain then mostly the microwave speed or latency will be slower and higher https://www.ericsson.com/en/blog/2021/11/mi...ul-outlook-2021https://www.ericsson.com/en/mobile-transport/multiband

QUOTE(mlamlam @ May 24 2022, 02:22 PM) Still discussing / bargaining on acquiring 51% of share of DNB.... https://soyacincau.com/2022/05/23/mof-rejec...remains-for-5g/As much as i hate what they were doing with the 5G implementation in this country, i do agree with the government decision not to allow the big four to get 51% and control the SPV.

QUOTE(budi1413 @ May 27 2022, 04:47 PM) yes just let the politician control everything, songlap the money and dnb will failed miserably. Think before you laugh. The main reason for the big 4 wanting the controlling stake (51%) between them is to effectively lock out other small players or would-be players. So they could then proceed with their thinly veiled price-fixing scheme. With DNB (if it actually took off), the entry barrier will be significantly lowered for small/new players. Before DNB, for a telco to have a decent coverage is to invest many many billions on the infrastructure. And becoming an MVNO (like what we have now) is not an option as one is still subjected to the infra partner (a full-fledged telco) thus would significantly lessen the chance for a small/new players to be a full-fledged telco. This is no doubt designed to further solidify the position of the big 4 at the expense of the end user like us. Thus my support for the government decision not to allow the big four demand for 51% controlling shares.
