Now I know why sometimes 5G can make calls, sometimes cannot.

Finally downloaded 4G/5G toggle that allow me to check network info (*#*#4636#*#* is blocked on my Realme GT Neo 3). It seems like something hanky panky going on with YES 5G setting. It seems like phone showing YES 4G network despite being connected to 5G. Hence, when the network speed is fast 160Mbps ~ 500Mbps, I cant get any calls. When the network speed is absymal like few Mbps, then it is connected to 4G and calls would go through but phone is still showing 5G despite being on 4G network.

Looks like India IP users will get 5G soon. Looks like we will have to wait for awhile more for our turn.

Totally no network at all with ZERO bars. If APN or settings incorrect the most you get is unable to access internet or go online. This one the network totally unavailable. No bars including a X on the signal icon.

I placed a active SIM without any unlimited subscription plan with just topped up value into the China branded imported phones. After not being able to detect any network I swap the same SIM back into a local warranty phone. Straight the network went back online with full bars.

I was thinking to get Pixel so I asked the seller if really supports all our major telcos or not.

They said, "yes except YES"

i got non rooted pixel, works with YES internet & VoLTE, just need to manually configure APN.

My internal news is next year hor... Cause can't catch up apple train to enable it in firmware this year

New iOS 16.2 beta today. 5G option still not available yet.

Can get him to check his IOS version? Probably it may be a carrier update that is being pushed out to selected users.

If IOS update, it should be system-wide update and everyone should see this on their device.

Maybe also internally test. Just download the ipcc files maybe. Wait professors answer.

Fiberization is required for 5G, just that DNB leases it from other providers while the providers either use their existing setup or expanding their fiber network. Conceptually, 5G itself is like WiFI, you still need fast wired backbone.
