nowander yesterday i go to the Yes 5G booth besides Lot 10 i saw 5G on S21 series but not S22 series
S21 series equipped with latest One UI 4.1 fw version
(But speed :
S21 series i get only 800Mbps+ but at the same booth Reno 7 & Xiaomi 11T Pro can get 1300Mbps+)

I tried to watch Facebook live and there is obviously an interruption when 5G is switching back to 4G

I also really doubt how it will be handled of voice call instead to switch seamlessly from DNB 5G network to 4G carrier network when implement VoNR
*
Seriously i tot this issue will be resolved since it's going commercial live
I experienced this issue n times on 15 January 2022
When im heading on MRT from Mutiara Damansara to Bukit Bintang
The 5G experience before the train going in to the tunnel isn't good , in fact , a very unstable network experience
Remember when we have no 4G coverage and that time 3G still working in Malaysia , the falldown is seamlessly , technically you will feel a slower speed / higher latency BUT the internet remain connected.

But not for DNB's 5G MOCN network ,
When out of DNB coverage , the network will slightly disconnected for 2 - 5 seconds , and during this 2 - 5 seconds , your data will be disconnected OR you will just get a No Service logo on your status bar , then only back to Yes 4G network

But it seems to be no problem on Yes 4G network -> DNB's 5G network
So i wonder why is this issue persist , already months ago , shouldn't DNB's engineer work with Yes's engineer to solve this issue?

DNB secretly remove the "Expected in Q1 2022"
No hope for Apple users other than waiting for the rest major telcos?

Who will going to pay this amount monthly.....
I believe it is more expensive than upgrade their current network to be 5G compatible...
Assuming extra RM 50 can be earned monthly by telco for every 5G subscriber, they need 720K subscribers to onboard...
and think about 1500Gbps = 1 500 000 Mbps, every subscriber only have 2Mbps capacity if all 720K subscribers are using the network at the same time....

and at this moment, hardly to have good indoor signal and the bad coverage in KL area.
DNB shall make priority to high density area and indoor / underground coverage
also 5G to 4G fallback is very bad, in between the fallback the phone will have no signal / data disconnection, which means if the user is having facetime video call / steaming, it will most probably facing the disconnection or reconnecting issue...

as an user, I won't mind to pay slightly more for 5G network access, but I don't want my phone only have 4G network most of the time but paying more expensive tariff for 5G network.
and yesterday, I had some speedtest in Kepong area, full bar 5G outdoor signal strength but speed is around only 200Mbps now..., with this speed 4G LTE 4CA also can achieve, what is the purpose of attracting telco to onboard DNB 5G network?

I was using Digi 4G before (now in grace period not to reload to make it active yet) and my Kampung area also can have 150Mbps ++ down speed
as long as the phone support 2CA / 4CA and it is in Digi 4G coverage, the speed would not be slow.

I went today again and I confirmed its an MOCN tower
Not sure about Maxis / U Mobile but confirm Celcom with Digi

Testing environment :
On a moving car bypassing the tower
Two devices :
iPhone 13 - Digi eSIM Postpaid
Pixel 3 - Celcom SIM Prepaid

iPhone 13 Results :

3CA for Celcom B1 + B3 + B3 55MHz , not sure with Digi as idk how to check with iPhone
user posted image

When I started Speedtest for both at the same time at 1st Digi will achieve 200+Mbps while Celcom only have 1 Mbps , then only after few seconds Celcom speed up and chasing Digi around 200Mbps++

Moreover, yesterday I also went to lalaport, which is a new shopping mall...

And there is no 5G signal in this shopping mall
Also no signal for Yes in the underground area...it is surprised me..

Same I have another Digi SIM and I only can use this to make payment using ewallet and call Grab back to hotel....
*
fun fact Celcom have no signal in Lalaport Sony Store while Digi can achieve 100Mbps+ , Maxis can achieve 50Mbps+

Another guy saying it is too expensive

https://www.chinapress.com.my/?p=2955363

Such price list with no indoor/underground coverage and poor handover between 4G and 5G....
*
im not sure is it because MIUI problem or whatever
I never encountered poor handover between Yes 4G and DNB 700MHz 4G & 5G NSA on OnePlus 8 Pro , but this happen on Poco F3 / Huawei Mate 40 Pro
OnePlus 8 Pro handover is no disconnect , very smooth , no distruptions
Poco F3 & Mate 40 Pro will become no service / data disconnected

and even OnePlus 8 Pro isn't on the support list

Saw this on google
Is it possible to use this solution to enable 5G too for Apple users to use Yes 5G network?

QUOTE(mlamlam @ May 28 2022, 10:39 PM)
Dont want to do big investment but want to have share back?

tell you guys one thing, many years ago CMHK (China Mobile Hong Kong) was a MVNO and it does not have 3G spectrum at all, it is a big company in China but not in Hong Kong.
CMHK was riding on someone else 3G network but its quality cannot be controlled, poor coverage / very slow speed on 3G network.

After a few years, HK gov had auctions for spectrum re-allocation and CMHK invested a lot on the 3G / 4G spectrum, also invest a lot on cell sites as well.
Now CMHK has its own network, not a MVNO anymore and offering affordable plan to people, especially CMHK mother company has advantage in China and it offers affordable China / Macau roaming plan as well... (like 1C2N service, call receiving is free in China / Macau, affordable price of 5G data roaming in China / Worldwide, etc..)

for such behavior DNB do all 5G cell site coverage, not only taking about technical side it would be difficult to handover as well, it would be a "single point of failure" as well. also discourage investment or innovation on 5G technology (for example, VoNR, 5G CA... etc...) because less of competition.

700Mhz and 3500Mhz are allocated for 5G deployment but until now my phone never receive 3500Mhz 5G signal, i thought DNB do deploy 700Mhz and 3500Mhz 5G at the same time? even low band has better coverage but it is good if the cell site having 3500Mhz signal at the same time as well.

the 10 years contract with DNB is also less flexibility to carrier, 10 years later we may be talking 6G already and 5G may become very basic or cheap technology probably in other country, while our carriers are still bounding to that contract and paying expensive rental to DNB....

and I found a big issue today, Yes 4G is not able to distinguish the traffic is from 4G or 5G, when I do the speedtest from my phone using 5G network, LTE data consume first and I received sms that LTE prepaid data is finished while the plan I have also contains unlimited 5G data.

it seems that not only about how to allocate (or sell? ) the DNB share to different carriers , on technical aspect it was unable to handle smooth handover from 5G to 4G, not able to distinguish 4G/5G data and deduct wrong data from my plan (fortunately it is free 5G trial and all data are redeemed from Shopee).

My personal recommendation is until all of those issues are fixed, otherwise it is not worth to pay extra $$ to have 5G plan now.

I tot their NSA is 3500MHz and 700MHz is only LTE for NSA

they just build a tower in the middle of a road?
I thought it likes other carrier, at least have some "fencing" or something to surround it.
