one thing good about having only one 5G provider is that can have large bandwidth for carrier aggregation since the spectrum is not split among several providers. icon_idea.gif

The idea behind DNB is good.

Correct me if I am wrong, the major telcos have 70% of controlling stake in DNB ?

So DNB is technically owned by the major big telcos in Malaysia with MCMC as the regulator?

i don't think any telco can control DNB
allow telco to buy stake so telco can assign ppl to Board of Directors and sit in there, and monitor the operation of DNB...

When we are talking about 5G, now iPhone 14 probably support satellite network ...

Or if Telco think 5G is too expensive, they can provide satellite service instead?

Satellite "Service" for data is not meant for high bandwidth "yet". It is just a "temporary storage" of data when the satellite is connected to the device, the "temporary data" will then be channeled to the next cell tower. It's merely an "enhanced" version of sat-phone:

But Kuching_Elon_Comm will make sure one day, sat-phone will replace 6G or 7G...

Yes 5G, seems like the last remaining batch of Samsung phones are finally supported on DNB network now.

able to lock LTE n28 but not NR n28
speedtest is 50Mbps ++

later try maxis sim if can lock to LTE n28 or not

updated : Same for Maxis, only can lock to Band 28 LTE, not NR

I believe the network is ready already, just not for UE to register on the 5G network

updated 2: just tried my unifi mobile sim, it is UNABLE to lock to LTE BAND 28 nor NR BAND 28, when tried to lock to LTE BAND 28, it becomes Celcom 4G 700Mhz and not able to register my phone to the 4G network, it seems that unifi is not ready yet for DNB 5G

Hopefully soon Maxis will make some kind of announcement regarding 5G network.

Celcom has made theirs...

On DNB 5G network, i guess they offer up to 150Mbps upload speed, while download speed up to 1-1.5Gbps (sometimes up to 2Gbps)
