1. Has anybody tried this before? Transfer or Convert your physical sim to eSim using your iPhone If yes, can you state which Telco are you with? Thanks
2. Since iPhone 13 have a choice of using 2 eSim or 1 eSim and 1 physical sim, which combo do you prefer and why?
3. Do you think your primary number should be eSim or physical?

I made my digi line from physical to esim . No issues for me atm. Just go to the telco shop and q up.. scan some code… tadaaaa done. Digi was free.. I would assume the iPhone itself will convert without hassle “provided” our local telcos supports this feature. I also wondering if anyone else did it This post has been edited by Wifi_One: Dec 3 2021, 04:36 PM

I’m on eSIM (Ceclom) & physical sim (Maxis) on my 13pm. Change data & voice with both. The only pain with esim is, if u change phone, u need to walk in to get a new QR.

Im using Digi physical sim, Celcom e-sim as i often find celcom coverage is better outside of kl. and iphone can do auto-switching between both mobile data depending on strength.

Can telco do mirror sim? Like 1 number but 2 sim. Share data like that. Or can the e-sim be copy to physical sim so can be use in 2 different phones?

I know last time Maxis has this multi sim, 1 phone number but can clone up to 5 sim cards so that can share the data plan with different device. Dont know whether still got such service or not now la

Always go for eSIM. Whenever I travel overseas, I buy eSIM online and activate it when reach destination. Cheap and convenient

I have a question to ask about this eSim. Since I still with physical sim card, haven't switch to eSim yet. Some people say that once you switch to eSim, you cannot do like a physical sim card, just take out the sim card and put to any phone that you like. If we want to change phone, we need to go down to telco centre do scan for new QR code again.
Actually I am planning to switch my physical sim card to eSim because I heard the recent news that Apple is planning to remove physical sim card slot in the future. Nothing is impossible, since last time Apple remove 3.5mm audio jack, remove touchID, remove power adapter, also rumour about removing the lightning port. Probably physical sim card slot will be the next.
So, if I switch to eSim, in case next time I want to replace to another new iPhone. Should I go down to telco centre to scan new QR code again?
I am hestitating about this issue so I search in Google and youtube to find out more informations. I found that actually iCloud can sync and backup our eSim data. So next time we just need to login our appleID in new iPhone to sync back the eSim data from iCloud, is that true?

I was on an eSIM when I had my iPhone XR and when the iPhone 12 launched and I pre-ordered it, I ended up having to queue up at Maxis for 2 hours (together with the iphone buyers!) so that I can transfer the eSIM. Worse of all, even the staff at the shop took an hour of back and forth with their HQ to get it resolved.

I think in future telco will implement self generate QR via mobile app instead of hassle going telco Center for replacement

QUOTE(Raymond T. @ Jan 11 2022, 12:41 PM) I think in future telco will implement self generate QR via mobile app instead of hassle going telco Center for replacement this will be the best scenario, but i do not think it will likely happen. Due to security, all e-sim QR one one time generated, as you know many OTP are sent to mobile, this is to safeguard your own interest. That is why we need to go center > produce your IC> verify your fingerprint > get your new e-sim QR. this is the safest way.

That wont be an issue as nowadays mobile app can implement e-KYC for verification such as scanning MYKAD + Real Person Face matching This post has been edited by Raymond T.: Jan 11 2022, 01:54 PM
