Just to bring back old thread.

I just returned from Thailand and with my esim roaming, some of their telcos still have 3G. I often let my phone to 3G-only because the phone is quite old with not so good battery life. Felt like I could get some extra battery life when on 3G-only.

Speed was acceptable. Probably no difference than congested 4G LTE in Malaysia anyway.
