QUOTE(goliath @ Jul 27 2022, 01:52 PM) hey all... past couple of days, i've been getting 'SIM Card Locked' even though my phone is static on the table. is this a sign of my SIM card issue or phone issue? If using eSIM ....i'm using 13 Pro Max, btw. ![]() But if using SIM, then try to set PIN, then unset. If still happening, then low-cost is to exchange SIM. Else, iPhone itself faulty(?). |

QUOTE(voc8888 @ Aug 9 2022, 05:04 PM) Noob question from an old uncle. I personally prefer Zerolution for all my phone device.MAXIS Post Paid 48 Zerolution 24M Plan is RM48 + RM232 and MAXIS Post Paid 48 Zerolution 36M Plan is RM48 + RM154, while APPLE is selling iPhone 13 Pro Max (256GB) at RM5,799. 1) Does it mean that if I keep my existing Maxis Plan 48 without upgrading, the iPhone device cost is RM5,568 (RM232 X 24mth) / RM5,544 (RM154 x 36mth) which is still cheaper than buying the device itself @ RM5,799 Got confused 'cos some claimed that it is not worth signing a contract plan with Telco? Rather than plonking RMxxxx outright, I rather pay in installment for it, and at a cheaper price. As I'm staying on the network anyway, with the same rateplan. Why care if everyone around call me stupid for going on a 36mth contract. If i buy cash and lose the phone, I lose RMxxxx and still have to spend another sum to get another phone. If i buy in installment and lose the phone, I lose RMxxxx-rebate and still have to spend another sum to get another phone. If I buy cash, I am poorer immediately by RMxxxx and earn more to replenish my savings. If I buy in installment, I can keep RMxxxx fixed in bank and earn more to pay installment over time. blissandecstasy, matdin07, and 2 others liked this post

QUOTE(T09 @ Aug 24 2022, 03:12 PM) Guys, is it true 13p/pm will be discontinued once 14p/pm released? Or this is just sales tactic by merchant? Probably the real intent is to discontinue keeping their own stock of previous version; bring new version in. Retailers won't like to keep outdated version with no guarantee of being able to sell it; customers will likely skip over previous versions in favour of newer.EDIT: 13p/pm having RM300 discount store wide and merchant told me most likely no more restock, they are doing 'clearance' before 14 arrived. You can see telco themselves still selling previous previous previous versions, so i doubt iP13 going to stop manufacturing altogether too soon. Few months ago some of us were agonizing over battery health.
Found this, belatedly. https://www.zdnet.com/article/your-iphone-b...-in-weird-ways/ I just checked my own iP13PM @ 99% battery health: CODE <key>com.apple.ioreport.BatteryCycleCount</key> <integer>122</integer> <key>com.apple.power.battery.design_capacity</key> <integer>4325</integer> <key>com.apple.power.battery.nominal_charge_capacity</key> <integer>4334</integer> <key>com.apple.power.battery.MaximumFCC</key> <integer>4503</integer> |

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 8 2022, 11:34 AM) rm399 for batt replacement. they require you to wipe off (reset all contents and settings) before passing it to them, so you need to do a backup, and restore later.. eh? i remember huawei have this "lock before servicing" feature.iOS don't have similar? (not mocking, just unexpected and curious.) |

i have that super RM19.90 subscription on.
BUT, with that, if i reset my device to factory, will i be able to restore back to exactly how it was at the point of backup, as if such reset never occured? including installed apps and sign-on credentials? QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 8 2022, 04:27 PM) Afaik Apple doesnβt have that feature, they have iCloud backup and restore which is pretty easy tbh.. QUOTE(zizso @ Sep 9 2022, 02:41 PM) I'm letting go a brand new iPhone 13 Pro (256gb Sierra blue) for RM 4,750. Still in sealed box and warranty not activated yet. All the reviews I read says the differences between 13 and 14 are minimal, and still they increased price (but most probably due to exchange rate).bought on merdeka sales and then now wanna upgrade to iPhone 14. DM me if anyone got interest. Negotiable for serious and reasonale buyer only. Might as well you start using the one that you already have in your hand. |

There's upgrade to 15.7, and there's upgrade to 16.
I'll do 15.7 first. This post has been edited by Oltromen Ripot: Sep 14 2022, 03:06 AM |

now that you mentioned it, yes, post iOS 16, face recognition is making me appear like a dumbass who is gacking turning to see his marvellous reflection in the "mirror" in front of payment counters with mask on.

1 annoying thing I experienced again and again post-iOS16:-
PETRONAS' Setel app keeps freezing if I am not at a station. Very annoying when wanting to top-up before heading to station. |
