my iPhone 13 Pro Max bought in Oct 2021.
battery health now at 92%... always charge from when is around 35% all the up to 100%.. used both MagSafe and wired.

my other 11 Pro Max, bought in Oct 2019; is at 90%
same charging method as the 13 Pro max

that's how to take care of the battery , me myself usually charge when is around 20-25% until full

Seems like overnight charge really kill it faster.
Mine from April 2022 at 86% health. Always charge overnight. Rarely used below 10 to 0%

I always read say the phone smart enough to stop charging when full.

My 13PM currently at 85% battery health. Bought secondhand used. At 90% battery health when i buy it.

Still can last 1 day@more than 1 day with heavy usage. iOS 16.6

me myself used to wake up in the middle of the night around 3am - 3.30am ( everyday ) -- usually going to the toilet , then i will charge my phone until before going to the office , but sometimes i do charge it overnight too

previously im using 12pm. which is also i bought used secondhand

next year if ada rezeki gonna sell 13pm and bought 14pm pulak

Overnight charging affect the battery life like it or not.

When I get the 13PM, no overnight charging.
Maybe occasionally when too low at night, especially it shows the red.

disabled the battery percentage, so it makes me less anxious coz there's no number being displayed.

recommended battery replacement is when it's drop below 76%?

I would only change the battery when it says “Service” on the battery health

Only if you have lots of lightning port accessories and can’t be bothered about the 13’s resale value, I guess.

Im actually buying for my wife who doesnt really care about usb c or other techy stuff, just need a phone that can last long.

I think you can decide after the Keynote tonight - see if 13 remains the base model or if 14 becomes that now. If the price is not far off, best to get the 14 instead since your wife will most likely use it long term.
