Collect money, then buy 1 share. Don't buy fractional shares.
Choose ETF if you want average 8-10%p.a Choose tech stocks if you want like 10-20%p.a

since you say QQQ, i will not advise buying ONLY QQQ. Only VOO, I can get behind the idea.

I do have quite a bit of QQQ but here is my take - the companies go and in out pretty regularly, sometimes, you do want a long runway for the companies you buy and they may take a longerrr while to bear fruit. As always, looking at historical performance to gauge future returns is 100% useless. I would be a multimillionaire, retired by now if historical gains repeats itself.

QQQ has quite a strong drawdown compared to VOO / DOW / S&P 500 especially in bear markets, i think you need to be prepared for -50% in the short terms when you start investing - will you be able to stomach it?

Otherwise I am quite fond of it as a part of my personal portfolio.

How much is 150usd per month to you? Do you have other investments, insurance, liabilities? Is your 150usd going to increase over time? Is this going to your retirement fund? WHat are the long term goals, how far out are you looking at?

- I personally think there is no harm in owning fractional stocks of tech companies. I still don't really have 1 AMZN or 1 BRK-A, if that's what you are asking. But less than 1 of AAPL is weird. Eventually you want to reach a big portfolio though.

What method do you use to buy fractional shares? will they incur a lot of fees? If you break 150 to 10 transactions and each get charged $1USD you are going to make your broker rich faster than you.

I looking for invest for long term like 10years above, so -50% in the short term is ok for me.
150usd is likely 14% of my salary, just do not want to keep in bank and sit there diam diam without working for me. So i rather DCA stock/etf monthly or quarterly.
Ya make sense that if break the fee to more transaction will charge more commission fee by broker. Will think about that rather just collect enough money and invest in ETF.

Try before SA, but personally do not like the combination of ETF in SA, so I wish to pick the choice of ETF by myself.

Don't bother with stashaway. Expensive middle man for something one can DIY.

its like you invest whole year 1800USD and suddenly on the 13th month becomes 900USD, what makes is worst is at the 10th year this happen at total portfolio 35,000 with 18,000 principle, and suddenly 1 month later it becomes 25,000 just at the time you want to withdraw.

It is still a commendable achievement, by itself but don't underestimate the impact of sudden drawdown due to uncontrollable circumstances.

Thanks for all advise, refer to Ziet invest channel, i will personally choose Ireland Domiciled S&P 500 ETF over US S&P 500 ETF which will less 15% tax holding. Beside that Ireland Domiciled S&P 500 ETF will have lower in unit price compare to US S&P 500 ETF, so i able to buy it with 150usd per month

Huh? It should be the same price regardless of where it's domiciled.
Like QQQ is $391.20 whereas EQQQ is EUR347.60. It's almost the same.
Also, $150 can't even buy 1 unit of QQQ or VOO.

Which broker are you using?

Would suggest TS to check on fund transfer fee (for oversea broker) and also brokerage fee/commission first. USD150 "every month" may not a wise move, I would consider a bigger chunk in each trade like quarterly or every 6-month instead.

Hi may i ask why do you suggest VTI instead of other ETFs? If price is a concern, why not VUAA since the WHT is lesser than that of VTI? Tq!
