QUOTE(jack2 @ Nov 21 2021, 08:04 PM) My friend wants to remote access to my PC for few hours daily treating like own PC for some purposes. Meaning those few hours you won't be able to use that PC when your friend remote in. Your friend remote in from external thru the internet or locally thru local LAN?Which remote access software is good for this purpose? If thru internet, the answer would be Teamviewer or Anydesk. They are free. If thru local LAN, Remote Desktop Connection (Windows feature). |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Nov 22 2021, 02:21 PM) You can read more about Anydesk and Teamviewer free and paid version difference on the official website. That's the easiest way. But there are more complicated way with more secure, not recommended for non-IT profession. |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Nov 21 2021, 08:04 PM) for few hours daily treating like own PC for some purposes. Unless he has a solid reason to do so, why would you want to allow your friend to remote into your PC?Your explanation sounds like you don't even know what he's going to do inside your PC |

Under normal situation, we won't allow anyone to remote our work or personal computer. People can hijack your files or info. If you keep personal photos or videos in the computer, I won't be surprising to see another case of some nude photos or dirty email/chat leaking on internet. And I won't be surprise if your Lowyat forum account, bank transaction & login info, email, social media account got hacked. Anything they wanna do, they can do on their own computer. Why must do on yours? If he remote your computer and do some hanky pranky thing such as hacking, spreading malware, then you are the one to be get caught and charge. Muusyc liked this post

Be cautious allowing such permission, as your friend might be doing some illegal stuff or things with your PC on the internet, and you will be facing troubles with legal issues later.Which remote access software is good for this purpose? |

By right, person who using Linux should know better than us which using Windows. You cannot blame us for suspect of something. Linux a lot of things have to use commands as the GUI is not so user friendly so Linux users should know more about Linux than us which is Windows users.

You can do it with remote port forwarding feature, part of the Linux command features, no need external or third party tool, get a very low-end vps 1-2 usd per month with ipv4, you can find on lowendbox, some of vendor even provide lower than this price if you can order with 1 year payment.
