You post in fast&furious but still use that site link? Anyway that is talking about the Avanza, not the Alza (renamed?). So won't have rebadge of the same car, but Alza is still expected sometime this year. I just waiting for price only....

I have used the current/old Alza for the last decade. Yes it is a stretched up Myvi. No I don't think Avanza is any more of a 'proper' MPV than the Alza. The Alza has either huge amounts of mid-row length (compared to what affordable sedans give you) and a spacious boot, or decent mid-row length and an additional 2 seats for smaller sized occupants (good for children), with a small space for essentials (not luggage). This new Xenia, interior wise, is almost identical to that!

Avanza is based on Veloz not Xenia I think, so obviously a different comparison (price also not comparable).

Anyone placed pre-booking yet? Dunno who can be trusted, some FB groups already got people accepting pre-booking for a sum transferred to personal account.....

Did mine 2 weeks back. Now rumour is next week open 'formal' booking. Launch by end of this month. Fingers crossed!

If pricing is as rumoured, crossing 70k, I think most will prefer the old Alza just on budget reasons. If the price creeps too close to the BRV/Xpander price range....

Based on latest p-tan article, this car won't qualify for SST exemption due to launching in July (if it does launch in July).

Who else already placed booking?

Hardly get a good testimony from Exora owners though (compared to the old Alza). Mainly complaints about petrol consumption and constant small repairs needed.

Check the Myvi thread (or maybe Ativa more relevant) for a sense. And remember people are always more likely to complain than say "wah so good".

Then compare with the X70/X60 thread (assuming you're comparing with Proton cars) or the relevant Jap/Kor car thread.

If kapchai/kancil can climb it, am sure this Alza can.

FB Page finally announced launch is 20th July. No word when first deliveries will be made, but definitely some will receive the cars earlier, the rest... good luck waiting =)

Got my Alza (H series) allocated, hopefully can pick up this Saturday. Test drove it today, more stable than the old Alza and the 2nd gen myvi. Spacing in middle row is good, back row still sempit.
