Sifu.. what’s the recommended wired to wireless CarPlay dongle?
Given tht 13PM battery lasts for whole day I don’t see the need for connecting to CarPlay via usb and at the same time charging the phone

QUOTE(palgo47 @ Nov 14 2021, 11:27 AM) Depending on your HU model..using OEM HU or android HU? If using OEM HU then plug and play using usb port, this dongle version price is higher. For Android HU must sideload apk for dongle to work but cheaper Ah.. ok ok… I’m @ oem hu

QUOTE(wei @ Nov 15 2021, 10:54 AM) Most OEM HU are locked. Even if it is Android based. It is best you check with the dongle seller if any same car model have successfully pair with the dongle. I've tried on my car's stock HU and doesn't work. Luckily the seller agree to let me try and full refund if not working. Gone with a full HU replacement and I'm happily with wireless CarPlay. Yeah.. this is a hassle tht I'm not willing to take. Buy dongle, sekali tak boleh pakai. The full HU swap, 3rd party aftermarket or still under tha manufactrurer's oem?

QUOTE(wei @ Nov 16 2021, 09:19 AM) 3rd party. Even factory offer they will slap you hefty price. What for, since HU warranty are very short. TQ TQ

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Nov 20 2021, 05:35 PM) For the dongle(<rm150), need to install autokit app on your hu. It won’t use the carplay built in but the one from autokit, got like 1-2 sec audio delay. There’s another one for +rm250, this one use the built in hu carplay but not sure about the compatibility I’m still deciding on which route to go. A few HU options, and a few dongles as well. Weighing the steering control buttons, reliability, stability, lag, etc., etc.
