 How to turn off digi data service?

I didnt use my digi mobile data but it keeps deduct money from it? is there any hidden method to turn of data service?

just unsubscribe and buy daily/weekly plan when needed.

havent use digi prepaid in over a decade, should be able to unsub

im not even calling or sms, just use it maybe to receive tac when online purchase or pay bill
all the calling and message can be done with app and wifi

Call the customer service. I once have this problem as well, everyday Digi will deduct around Rm1, sometimes a bit more. At first they are reluctant and said it's not their problem, but after I reported to MCMC then they fix the problem. I even got my refund for all the prepaid balance that they deducted.

from what i learnt (dunno is real or fake) lte will send out data without consent? (could be device specific) so changing 4G LTE to 2G is a temporary fix? The long term solution I just did is request the customer support to activate free base internet 0MB, so even small data packet is sent out, it wont charge money

ps: it didnt happen in the past because digi used to have basic free internet, i dunno when it stopped and before i realize it, it already deduct a massive amount of my credits

How bout, set ur phone to flight mode. Only when u want to receive tac only u switch off flight mode

Exactly the same issue happened to my parents’ Hotlink before . They don’t hv any data plans. The solution is to set the mobile network to 2G only , after that no more having such problems anymore. It seems the 4G network works differently, even u did not switch on mobile data it still will consume data.

Here is what I did for my backup phone last time. I complain to mcmc about the digi stealing frm me. I complain enough times they turn off data for me and refund me.

Then reopen case with mcmc. I lost maybe 100 ish over 6 months digi refund something like 48 for that year it happen between Aug-Feb or something like that. This was few years ago I kept bothering mcmc.

Then keep complaining to mcmc. You think I know actually how much? 😅🤔😂 I only know latest lost was topup 30 ringgit it went zero within 10 days! I mostly guess because I remember I had over rm100-150 in that number at one time suddenly its zero.

👍Just keep insisting your cheated you don't know how you lost so much credit. Sooner or later they likely settle for at least 1/3 of what you lost. Well hopefully. My was true it was my alarm clock I just kept a backup sim card in it. Nobody calls in or out that number.

Just remember never close whatever case you open even if no movement. Mcmc asked me I said my issue wasn't resolve by digi and kept it open.

No need but they do give you a link which you can check digi response. More than likely digi will email or call you. If mcmc agent ask usually through email if you wish to close case just say no your issue not resolve. It took me a month or 2 until digi decided settle. Since I don't have to actually chase them I try my best kept the case open. Good luck.

Certain old prepaid plans does not offer free basic data in order to get that u hv to switch to newer plans.

celcom xpax and maxis hotlink old plan voice only no basic data will charge data pay-per-use when use with 4G 5G smartphone.

Most new phone will sip data even when u switch it off

To turn off, remove the apn setting totally.

Or use a Nokia 3310 style phone. No data function at all

You can't really blame Telco for this.
Blame phone that curi curi use data despite turn off data function.
Last time my xiaomi did that. Only way is to delete apn
