Hi everyone,

I am considering of getting an USB-C external monitor for my 2019 16" Macbook Pro to improve my productivity space and workflow.

So far, I have been eyeing on this particular monitor model from Dell.

What caught my eyes about this monitor from Dell is that it can charge my MacBook Pro, it is an IPS panel (bonus as I'm a photographer and image editor) and an impressive resolution specs.

I am getting an external monitor for my Apple device for the first time and so, would like to hear your take on this option. If you have other recommendations, please let me know. I'd love to know about them. Thank you smile.gif

For me I have been using the Dell Ultrasharp U2720Q:

https://www.dell.com/en-my/shop/ultrasharp-...tor-accessories

It allow you to charge your MacBook (via USB-C) and transfer video+audio+data as well. Not only that, the monitor can be used as a USB hub (there are 3 USB-B ports and 1 additional USB-C which you can daisy chain another monitor or use for data transfer).

Your model would work exactly the same with larger dimensions. Highly recommended!

Does your MacBook Pro heat up when docked with your U2720Q?

I wouldn't recommend anything less than 4K (2160p) on a 32 inch as it will look absolutely awful beside the MBP. The DELL U3421WE is only 1440p.

I wanted the DELL U3219Q initially but went with ASUS ProArt PA329CV eventually as I like the design of the ASUS more.

I use the MBP13 and it is slightly warmer when driving a 4K display for sure.

Nope ... not really ..... I use the MacBook in clamshell mode though ... since it's getting power from the USB-C cable .... I just close the MacBook and have it stand up in an aluminium stand
