I been on a lookout for a new macbook pro since my 2016 macbook pro experienced flexgate... it's not a great macbook by far since it has disastrous battery life (5 hours max)

I have seen the new 14" macbook pro and the display looks fantastic.. but battery fell a bit short. Not to mention cost RM8k wtf

I was thinking is the macbook pro 2020 13" worth the money now? Battery life is my most priority and I heard this is a beast.. cost way lesser as well

I don't do heavy editing, just light gaming like dota 2 and workflow like whatapp, telegram, google sheets and excel. nothing too fancy

Gaming on mac while on battery?

What?

Maybe you can extend the battery by reducing the game resolution…

Mbp 13” is still good for basic stuffs and runs dota2 well, if budget is not an issue you may want to consider going 16gb ram if you are planning to use it for a few years..

The 2020 MBP is based on the same design since 2016. While the display flex cable is slightly longer in 2017 model year, it will face backlight issues eventually few years down the road.

In fact, the display is the same part as 2017 MBP.

There’s no problem with gaming on MBP on battery. I managed to get 2 full Dota games last time on a 2015 MBP 13”.
I’m sure the 2020/2021 M1 can at least do that if not more.

Based on your usage, seems like even the Macbook Air M1 is sufficient already. Just get the 8 core GPU model.

You won't regret it, I am using one for work and I am always amazed by its battery life. Once I forgot to bring my charger and I didn't need to even charge it for the entire day at the office.

if i am plannning to use it to render photo slideshow in adobe premier and i need lightroom fast photo preview rendering, would this be a good choice? the new RM8k m1 is just too high to justify.

Currently still on the 2014 retina 15 mbp with 16gb and nvidia 2gb gpu.
