Hello, I'm planning to buy a simple decent quality tripod for my canon 600d also preferably if can also be used as handheld, I don't think I would use it very often, just occasionally so I wouldn't want to spend too much on the tripod, anyone can recommend a decent quality one ? I was looking at Zomei Q111, is that a decent one ?

I bought one for my wife and she mounts her phone most of the time. I sometimes use it for my m43 camera indoors and in a very controlled environment but even that I wouldn't trust its integrity because the mount/plate is plastic.

I ended up with Benro T600EX, which costs me 200 after discount. Is this a good buy or did I just wasted my money ?

Good luck in your purchase. Actually, I've seen andoer (I think q160) selling tripods at around RM100+ and I've managed to use it briefly and recently.... The tripod head, plate, mount definitely more solid than the zomei cause its aluminium. The legs are a bit skinny but overall, I felt it to be definitely better built than the zomei q166.

Benro is generally a good brand. I got one before 2010 and it is still pretty solid now.
