I try to connect my router to izzipro modem, which supposed to be able to support multiple user.
Set the router connect through PPPoE, with username and password from izzi, and I'm now able to surf the net.
However, failed to log-in any of MSN, yahoo or OICQ...
is it due to configuration problem?
when i direct connect the izzipro modem to my desktop, i'm able to login MSN and chat as well.
but problem when i go through the router.
can anyone help? or any clue?

Did you configure your modem to act as bridge aka modem mode?

hi everyone, just wanna update this post.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CONNECT THE IZZIPRO TO MY WIRELESS ROUTER!!! WAHAHAHHA.

what i did is:

1. i disable my router's router function and let it acts like a normal switch.
2. i changed my DI-624 unit IP to 192.198.0.1 instead of the default 192.168.0.1
(i believed that the izzipro already have the router function and using 192.168.0.1 as its unit IP)
3. set all my PCs/laptop at home with static IPs range from 192.198.0.2 to 192.198.0.254, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, & gateway 192.198.0.1.
4. set a static PPPoE for my router to log-in for izzi. in this case i'm using 192.198.0.21.

i dun know much abt theory, but, anyhow, it works now, hahahahahha

k in theory, i believe the modem from izzipro must have NAT enable(routing function)

but its confusing when u set pppoe on ur router, wherelse this should be on the modem itself, like what was asked from karhoe. if the pppoe dialing is from the modem, then u set ur wan setting in the di624 as dynamic

and its very unusual for ur modem to have such a weird IP, 192.198.*.*??

hmm, i'm not sure, but it works.
is my router having the IP of 192.198.*.*
i can't access or change anything to the izzipro modem,
so what i do is changing the setting of my router.

for the "wan" setting of my router, i choose the PPPoE, as i believed izzi (the ISP) is using PPPoE dialup. i'm using dynamic PPPoE at 1st, but then having problem to logon my MSN and other similar program. So i tried the static PPPoE. After this, everything works fine.

The IzziPro modem does not have a router function; it is simply a modem, that's all. Check Kyocera's website (the sole manufacturer of iBurst devices, IIANM) for specifications. You cannot do any configuration on the device whatsoever. There is no option to put it into bridge mode or modem mode, etc etc.

hi, i reduced the MTU==576 just like what u suggested.
it works too.
However, i'm quite interested to know about the function of this MTU
its good that we can DIY the networking task, rather than asking / waiting for the technician from the ISP or computer shop.

Do you still have to do all that you did previously? Or just change the MTU and no need to do any additional config like setting static IPs, etc on the router?

hmm... i still need to set the router unit IP to 192.*.*.* (other than 192.168.0.1).
and then using dynamic PPPoE log-in at the WAN setting.

If you still have to configure what you did previously even after changing the MTU, what's the point of the additional step of changing the MTU? Doesn't this make things more complicated?

k basically the MTU is Maximum Transfer Unit, the lower it goes, the slower your comp goes, u only change this when u cannot access certain websites or some application like msn or Outlook not working, then lower u change it, the slower it goes,defaull is 1400 to 1500, do not go lower than 900

basically if the modem u got there is half bridge or fully bridge, u can do the dialing(PPPoE) from the router, that means the modem is a dumb modem, acts only as a modem, no routing or NAT functions, mean u dont really need to change the IP to suit ur modem, but if ur modem is bridged, where got IP?

thats why i said its confusing, sorry for saying that coz u never provide details description on ur topology and IPs ...

but, if can get a proper way to do it, then its much more better...

so, do u mean that, if before this i can settled it by maintaing the MTU==1400,

After following your steps, I still can't get my iZZiPro modem to connect to my wireless router. I am using Level One Wiresless ADSL Modem Router. Can anybody help me please ?

i also have problem trying to use a router to split the bandwidth. i can't have a stable connection when i'm going through a router.

is there any ways that i can configure my router? i let the guys at izzi's shop to configure, it works for like few minutes then it won't move at all after that.

and the ip settings is really confusing to me...

Hi, I had the same problem. My router couldn't deliver my iZZi login info to the modem and also the ISP. My laptop was running on Windows Vista. Then I switched to another laptop which is running on Windows XP SP2 to re-configure the router's settings and voila, my problem is solved.

For those who are interested to know, my Belkin router model is Belkin F5D7231-4 version 1000ak with firmware update: http://www.belkin.com/support/download/dow...oad=1799&lang=1

To be honest with you, I really don't know why the Windows version matters. My best guess is that maybe my old Belkin router is not designed to accept the Vista's inputs. Cheers.

If you can post the IP settings here, we can try our best to explain.
It won't be so unstable if the radio part and the basestation is functioning fine (and of course, the cpe hardware itself)

I doubt if there is such problem with Vista.
At least I have never seen any site that only accepts Windows XP but not Vista.

Yeah, what you said is true. I myself also can't believe that switching laptop will work. And I'm merely posting and sharing my solution with everyone else in here. Just like how the solutions you guys posted in this forum had helped me in some ways. Cheers.
