Hi guys I got quoted rm1/ft to skirting labour installation, and rm18 per step on stair case. Is the price reasonable ? Dismantle existing skirting one day job rm250

Contractors always quote minimum for small job to justify their time there. Workers are paid daily wage whether is half or full day job.

It depends on the scope. The 18 per step is labour only? Need to cut the step 45 degree and stick only.

The tricky part is doing all the 45's with a circular saw.

Dismantle you can rip it out yourself with crowbar or screwdriver and hammer. It comes out easily. Just a matter of time vs money.

In essence the quote is structured to cover "call out fee" and "additional stuffs to do".

There is no standard market rate for skill work. Is up to the contractor. There is no law to control their price unlike lawyers or doctors.

Is best you shop around and decide which one to engage. An expensive quote doesnt mean a good job and vice versa.
