I have been to some places when you are connected to the wifi network. there is a small message display box just pop up in the middle of nowhere to say something like, "You are connected to this Network"
and it's not something you will get with any network. Just curious how do they do that?
anyone?

Just curious how do they do that? anyone? You set this in Preferences>Network>Show:Airport>Options Essentially: If you set it to "ask before joining open networks" you'll get the pop-up message. If you set it to join networks automatically: no pop up message. If you have set the network as a preferred network: again - no pop up message.
