I actually want to buy a working speed trap detector (2nd hand unit) but i do not know if its legal or illegal in this forum. if its ok then i will proceed to posting this in the auto garage section.

Of course it is illegal. You get caught by police, you die. And they can detect it pretty easily too.

sorry bro, but that matter is still unresolved by JPJ of Malaysia. Police and JPJ are debating over it still over the use of these equipments.

my actual question is for the mods and admins of this place. will it be illegal for me to advertise that i would like to purchase 1 of these equipments. WTB not WTS. my previous model is kind of outdated and was wrecked when my wife accidentally spilled water on it. if i can get one here then why not. my previous model was from UK while i was doing my masters program there. bought another from HK . if its possible i'd really ilke to get 1 here.

Well, you can try ask on those shops that sell electronic items like at Jalan Pudu (KL).

There's Stealth mode on those Detector which hide itself from being detect by Laser Gun.

TS : pay me fifty bucks and i'll tell you where to buy in malaysia.

and btw , jalan pudu got sell but the models are damn super the old. need a newer model.
