I have a fixed amount from the scholarship for the laptop so guide me in this range yea of 5500 rm thanks.
Acer Nitro 5 new one any good?
Is there any shop I can just walk in to buy or you suggest buy through online on Lenovo and wait... for a good time (I can't see the RTX 3060 version though). Thanks all.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 20 2021, 07:04 PM) don't buy from technation how long u can wait for delivery? Okay, I don't buy from them. I can wait 5-6 weeks and longer if have a good deal la. How do you suggest to buy since the prices from Technation very cheap? Can you guide me how to get more discount buying directly from Lenovo, especially when it doesn't show available 3060 versions on the website. Thank you so much!

I can't answer the part about "how to claim student discount", but oh boy, even the HP official stores are out-of-stock...
I just want to say if you are going to play predominantly e-sports titles like Valorant or CSGO, you can opt for a cheaper GPU configuration, but go for a package with better display response time, temperatures, software control center, and overall general build quality, even in the little details like having a lighter but adequate charging brick. Ideally a 1660 GPU is decent enough, but a laptop with this card is super rare to find in the market these days. The next lower options are 3050 and 1650.
If a laptop is cheaper than others for the same configuration, they must have made some cost-cutting compromises in some of the areas I've mentioned.
Display response time is important for shooter games, unless you are plugging it to an external monitor anyway. Another thing to note is that the same model may be sold with a different display panel in another region, or another release batch. There is a lot of research to do even after watching and reading reviews. However off the top of my head, the Aorus 15P won't compromise on these little details because they have e-sports certification. The "nose cam" is a small issue though.
If you have an affinity for build quality and aesthetics, checkout Zephyrus G14 (the configuration with GTX 1650, otherwise it is too expensive). However, they mostly come with a slower display response time.

I'm not so sure about Lenovo but I have had the opportunity to try the new Nitro 5 and I would say that it is great. Good gaming performance, good product build, smooth display when it comes to watching movies or gaming, overall I think it is worth the buck as compared to many models on the market that provides the same specs. You can check out these 3 models as they are within your current budget range: https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-AMD-Ryze...a6-25d26d155e6dhttps://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-Intel-11...ea-e0fba4977c59https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Nitro-5-AMD-Ryze...22-61ead5320950I believe they are also doing cashback plus rebate right now as well as giving out a free bag pack if you purchase through Shopee, so i think it's a good deal. According to their reviews on Shopee, deliveries are usually quick and safe so I don't think you need to worry on that part.

QUOTE(Fawkes @ Nov 6 2021, 08:24 AM) What is the difference between the first and third link? From what I see the pricier one having much better display in terms of colour gamut (72% vs 45%). Next i also saw the RGB keyboard backlit vs red colour one?

Thanks all. https://www.senheng.com.my/acer-nitro-5-ace...15-57-556r.html. I preferred buying from Senheng to get freebies and extended warranty. My friend just got it on 11.11 with RM200 off. But I think the deal is gone for now. Extra warranty from Senheng is pretty good IMO

Acer have tarnished their name already and Acer=bad quality has planted so deeply in customer's mind so their only strategy is having price war with other manufacturers.

I wouldn’t touch Acer laptop also. I used to own a laptop from them, day one brought back and rosak, brought back to shop but shopkeeper said need bring back Acer repair Center, causing wait time for nearly a month to get it back.

Almost all of the desktops at my office are Acer brand. One common problem of these pc is their tend to have it's own problem for each batch e.g a batch which were purchased in 2018 would have power supply issue while another batch which purchased at different time would have monitor issue. Nevertheless, my office still continues to support Acer as their price really cheaper if compare with other brand.
