On paper the monitor looks nice, and the price is cheaper among the common brands in the market.

1 thing is how good is their own brand and warranty?

We know that bad pixels are common with less then 3. But im kinda of particular on display, going to be an eye-sore if notice some bad pixels.

However, they have a rm99 package for 180 days guarantee no bad pixels. Cant check on the spot during walk-in purchase... hmm.gif

Remembering last time i bought at LYN physical shop, they allow me to test on the spot to make sure everything is ok before i pay and go.

Found two reviews so far for this monitor

Overall sounds like a good buy, just I want to know how big different is the APEX 27 HDR (non vesa certified) compared with vesa certified HDR monitor...

oh i dont trust these reviews anyway

and i also dont trust the so called HDR for monitor has less than 600 nits. a proper HDR can only identical with high brightness, those 400 nits (with vesa or w/o vesa certified) so called HDR400, u can barely see any image improvement on the HDR. in shorts, HDR400 = no HDR.

i am actually more interested on the panel quality and color accuracy. on paper they can write anything, but actual case have to see it with our own eyes

not sure any forumer has bought it and mind to share the experience? biggrin.gif

There are different types of HDR. The difference is in the brightness and the colors that the screen can display. Vesa has created a DisplayHDR standard for this.

DisplayHDR 400
- At least 400cd/m² peak brightness
- At least 320cd/m² brightness
- At least 95% coverage of BT.709 color space

In fact, HDR 400 still HDR. HDR 400 was the first standard and first technology designed for monitor to display High Dynamic Range (HDR).

yes HDR400 is still a HDR, but is it a true HDR without enough brightness?

It is still HDR. Just that as technology improve everyday, old technology or old standard might be obsolete. In another 5 or 8 years time, we would say HDR 600 is not HDR coz by that time we might running on HDR 1200 or HDR 1400 standard.

The question was still back to how much we really need on HDR 600 or HDR 1000? Not all games support HDR.

It is still back to your question, whether you need HDR or not. And how much you need it and whether you can afford it. On the market, the real HDR 1000 (Asus ROG SWIFT PG27UQ) monitor is basically 5 digits figure. Dell Alienware gaming monitor with 450 nits (I personally categorized it under HDR400) is costing around RM3900. Asus ROG XG27UQ with HDR 400 (400 nits) is costing at RM7999.
