Hi guys,

I am planning to install automatic water pump (0.5hp) on my intermediate terrace house for rental purpose. If were to install water tank, it would cost a lot to reroute the piping all over again.

Anyone here installed your water pump directly to the water source without water tank?

What are the cons of doing this?

Quick update:
I've installed a tank already with the water pump.
0.5hp works just sufficient for double storey intermediate, can have 3-4 taps simultaneously open and still have sufficient water pressure for normal use.

I think it may not be legal for a pump to installed before storage.

It will disrupt the flow to other units and if there is a complaint, the authority will instruct to remove.

That’s illegal and irresponsible. Your neighbour’s water pressure will be affected, besides if everyone in your taman did the same thing it would cause water pressure issues for everyone. Just install it after the tank, not before.

I see a lot of people install water pump directly from source in my Taman. When I called SADA , syarikat air darulaman, pertaining low water pressure, the SADA guy asked me to install water pump

Buy the strongest pump.

Irresponsible answer from the authority. This is illegal as the resident is directly pumping from the main source.

State govt fighting with other state and other non serious issues but have no time to solve local urgent problems.

I guess you are right. Too many offenders too, don't think they have the resources to go and check each and every complaint filed.
Owner will need figure out ownself.
