They most likely put majority into private. Those want public just need to call.

Mine changed to private but manage to change to public again. That was in September. Dunno if that is related to this exercise or not.

it wont stop customers from complaining to SKMM saying my house CCTV stop working after TM doing some changes.

Well since mobile network users, maxis fiber user, time fiber user never complaint about their daily internet usage even though they all are behind private ip, means unifi user also not gonna have problem. Only people that need direct access to their internet at home gonna have problem with private ip. Heck even remote support software such as teamviewer or anydesk work using private ip.

Public IP has 1 level of NAT.
Private IP or CG-NAT has 2 or more levels of NAT.

Other than CCTV (the ones which need ports forwarded) or remote web server, not good for torrents. Also Playstations or other game consoles will give a lower grade for your NAT test.

Without public IP, (Mainly for IPv4)
1. CCTV remote access without go through CCTV brand hosted server will not be accessible.
(I think some people will think access from CCTV company hosted platform not secured, but i think as long as using a well-known CCTV company then it is okay for most people,
and of course chinese or non well-known cctv or IP camera brand might be having some security issue, then for this it depends on the user.
2.Private game server hosted in home like Minecraft, Ark or something else will not be accessible. (But i know Minecraft support IPv6, and of course most people does not use IPv6) (Second way for MC- Ngrok to public access from internet)
3.Torrenting without IPv4 will having a lot of problem like lower download speed, and mostly upload speed will be limited.
4.VPN server hosted in home will not be accessible.
5.NAS hosted in home will need to go through NAS P2P cloud service for access which mean the speed will be limited.
6. Web server hosted in home will not be accessible from internet. (This can be solve by using Ngrok or Cloudflared tunnel)
7. PS online game will get lower NAT mode or level? (I dont have PS console) (will cause higher ping or causing more harder to find players to play together)
8. Small possibility for having same ip address with others on some services? (Might be false block/ban user if the same ip address ban)
9.Lower priority network to access internet?

Anything I didn't mention or said wrong, feel free to provide your opinion.

Edit Added: For TM IPv6,I think still need a lot of improvement made by TM before call it as fully usable ,or else there still got a lot of crap routing issue or getting lower speed from a lot of server.

I just reset my IP... now I am on ipv4.... I was ipv6 a while ago. ( check my post before this one in this thread)

seems getting ipv6 is totally random

you can call to ask for public ip. if they cannot give. your best chance is to use service like Nord VPN with a dedicated ip (public ip) and you can use that ip for all those services i.e torreting and non-cloud based CCTV system..

even my quote already said the thing, users that require direct connection will have effect, this is mostly for cctv and people doing server / game hosting for some reason which is technically illegal anyway. For ps gaming should be no issue since im gaming with on ps using time fiber that has been using private ip so many years ago without a problem. My friend even doing game streaming using time internet with any slowdown or performance degradation. Like i said normal user not gonna feel the difference. I bet even you not gonna feel the effect and i bet u also didn't understand half  the things that u have quote that is why u dint understand my post either.

normally for home router, torrent client will attend to talk to the router(gateway) to do a upnp (port forwarding) to allow inbound connection to the laptop/pc/client so to able other to download from you i.e seeding.

unless ISP NAT/CGN have these which is unlikely, your torrent will only work partially, "technically" should still be able to download, seeding should be not able. then again, some torrent client will prevent download from client who do not seed. so your millage will differ..

if everyone cannot seed. so where u download from?? well surely not from TM customer or Malaysia users.

actually even wit CGNAT, it can work provided:

a) TM reserved your private IP
b) forward the same port traffic to your router.
& yes, TM actually has root access to your router via TR-069

Doesn't matter. As long as TM forward port to you, you can forward port to CCTV recorder. The latter part we've been doing already with public IP. But strange that they're willing to do this. Additional work for them. I'd expect them to just say no.

i ask tm for public ip tm say cannot:( Looks like have to get another contract for fiber package. Tm tech said mine is already private ip.

Last week, I got SMS telling me that it will be maintain in midnight 3/12 and might disconnect, but no disconnect happen to me, also no one talk about it on Lowyat, might be something related to public IP la.
