That is the only working strategy that work. If you wait more often than not it will drop and drop.
I have the suspicion that most owners also join the selling boat.

Either
(1) dump it all on the first day (typically within the 1st hour)
or
(2) sell on the first day to recover capital and just kept the profited amount in stock
or
(3) totally forgotten about it all together on the first day 😅

(1) 90+% of the time with cut lost at 10% of IPO price
(2) only CTOS and FFB comes to mind
(3) luckily it was Coraza and still have it
