Hello all. I'd like some advice on knocking down an internal wall in an apartment. I'm considering getting a new apartment and am considering older freehold condos for the cheaper price, but one thing I noticed is the square feet can be quite small (eg. 650-750 sq f) but they put in three bedrooms. I'll be living alone so I was thinking of knocking down a bedroom wall to make the living space bigger. I know that the price will vary based on the size of the wall, but does anyone have an idea on a starting price if we consider a small bedroom wall size? Thanks! biggrin.gif

Firstly, not every JMB allows tearing down of wall in highrise.

Your safest decision is to look for those bigger units .... either 2 or 3 rooms or the owner has oredi converted from 3 to 2 rooms.

Yeah seconded, load bearing walls cannot be torn down; the only way to know this is from the floor plan and do check with JMB on what's allowed and what's not.

Some newer high rise, do come with hackable wall

Thanks, noted. But do you happen to know what the cost range would be like to knock a wall down if it's allowed?

Depending on severity of the demolition requirement. Can be anywhere between RM 4000 - RM5000 onwards.

Roro bin rental is anywhere between RM400 to RM500 onwards

Shouldn't be that high. Demolish, disposal and restore that 1 wall should be around 2,500. Roro bin rental never exceeds 200, and even PBT roro bin is around 260-280

Yeah but depends on JMB requirements. Roro bin has sizes as well. Small one is about 260 to 280.
