Also true. But I'm seeing some not-so-popular phones that were sold here officially not in any Telco VoLTE list, either. Like Motorola phones. Can't just use 'change your phone' explanation every time, no?

Don't understand why enabling volte need to follow the sirim list. What about people who come to Malaysia for business or leisure using phones not in the official list ?

They would be subjected to the same inconvenience and potential hazardous situation as well right

This is a valid argument. But how about other countries? hmm.gif

So I read about this.. doesn't really makes much sense to me though. If anyone can explain, please do sweat.gif

This is an update from the previous announcement on 3G Network Sunset on November 13, 2020.

After June 30, 2021, interim approvals without VoLTE test report submission shall not be granted full approval

I am replying to the original post that wrote "Dont think it will work though? Because your phone is not in the SIRIM database and we are not supposed to use the phone here. Hence why these telco's are not obliged to support volte for these models."

therefore my point is that the phone is obviously registered in Sirim database which is required because all imported units needs to pay for sirim, then shouldn't the telco obliged to support VoLTE for these phones as well?
*
Probably because getting registered/cleared in SIRIM is different from having SIRIM testing, in terms of cost and procedure, as another forummer pointed out somewhere earlier..?

I got this from.. somewhere :

To demonstrate compliance for VoLTE, the 4G capable devices shall be tested according to IR.92 or TS 34.229-1 or equivalent standards by accredited laboratory
The VoLTE test report for interim approvals shall be submitted to SIRIM starting February 15, 2021 until June 30, 2021

New application is submitted between February 15 and June 30, 2021 and already possess valid VoLTE test report, applicant may submit the test report without the VoLTE declaration
Full approval shall be granted if applicant demonstrates compliance to VoLTE requirements through test report submitted. Other certification requirements shall also be fulfilled in order to receive full approval

But the fact that P6 can also use VoLTE with root, well..

to get the test report must get from vendor / manufacturer. Pretty sure got RM to pay SIRIM also for above  whistling.gif  sweat.gif

as of now the option is to Root
*
Ya and I don't think that even got generous Pixel owner (anak menteri? tongue.gif ) willing to fork out thousands to help pay it can happen either, most probably need to be submitted by Google themselves.

I'm still looking for that no-need root VoLTE I read somewhere though.. I don't mind re-setting it w/ever after every device reboot, either.

yes, no harm doing the report. MCMC in the past is quite proactive to act on complaints raised.

Considering GE15 is near also, just make a lot of complaints, who knows right tongue.gif

Saw someone posted on FB that esim can get VoLTE, that is why I'm asking. Or it is a workaround for data when call comes in
*
Hopefully it's not my post, because I did try physical sim + e-sim both, data still drops when calls come in due to Pixels being DSDS (dual sim dual standby) not DSDA sweat.gif
