Well regulations is regulations, I suppose. Just hope whoever stuck with SIRIM didn't have to return their phones or such.. and since there are others that got theirs problem free, like urs.

At least I see Unifi and Yoodo having Pixel models listed in their 4G compatible phones.. I kind of hoping they would somehow support VoLTE for Pixels. The way I see it now, unless you have Samsungs/Iphones/Xiaomi Huawei Vivo Oppo phones, other brands are a hit and miss on VoLTE support even though purchased officially here.

Yea imagine ur close to chicken dinner with PUBG then a call comes in or using Waze or something like that, masuk longkang liao . Not to mention using flagship Google phone but making calls with 20-year old tech is kinda sad

Been fooling around with dual sim standby (1 voice 1 data) with my 4a to see if data drops during call, so far no dice. Probably I need to swap around and test more.

Ah I am currently using Yoodo e-sim as voice/data on my 4a, couple days ago got a physical sim to try separate both and see if data will drop during calls. Still does, maybe I'm doing it wrong, will test further.

As far as I just checked, Unifi mobile listed all Pixels (xcept the 6) in their phone compatibility link here, but VoLTE is still X, of course

Yes since 4a only have 1 physical sim and 1 e-sim, I am currently doing that (physical sim as voice and e-sim as data vice versa) and see if the data drops during calls. Still does atm tho

A lot of new cars nowdays have some kind of phone mirror system like android auto, what to do if on highway disconnect got in wrong exit, habis

Not to mention if no carrier supports e-sim for P6, I most probably have to change back to physical sim later on, too

I still think Yoodo is the best for this, as you can adjust ur bill/usage monthly, can do everything from the app, and considering they support a whole range of Pixels, they would probably support P6 too. Hopefully, that is

So I just tested further using 2 sims from Yoodo, both having voice and data, (1esim, and 1 physical sim), set one for voice and another for data, and then swap their functions for another round. So during calls, LTE does drop, the symbol disappeared altogether - but when I enable 'enable this sim for data during calls' which is only available on the sim that is set for voice only, it only drops to 3G, like, uh, currently. Which is a moot point when 3G sunset happens next year

I suppose this IS the nature of DSDS - Dual Sim Dual Standby, as opposed of DSDA - Dual Sim Dual Active, which I believe even the 6 doesn't have (not sure which phones have this currently..) and is a hardware feature, and cannot be enabled with software update etc, like DSDS. Even Google's own support page says "During a phone call, all data goes through the SIM making the call" so the other one is inactive. Can receive calls from any sims at any time, though. Just no 1-voice 1-data thing my idea originally had. Could've saved some time if I did more reading before ordering another sim Correct me if I'm wrong, though. Or if there's any request for me to test this in another way, I'm open to suggestions and willing to.

So have to figure out VoLTE one way or another, I guess.

Well, maybe if we can pool together like, 50k or so Pixel users together for a petition to a single telco.. I read somewhere that telco needs to submit certain test report to Mcmc and SIRIM both to get VoLTE approval.

Maybe rope in some of those famous local YouTuber or Instafemes? Haha

If Pixels are sold officially here, I reckon the user base would be pretty big. The a series are pretty cheap, and decent. Wishing for something that will not happen, are we Granted I have a lil bit of regret on ordering my 6, but oh well.. haven't used a mainstream phone in what, close to 10 years or so. With a Xperia, OG Pixel, Motorola Z3 and current 4a

Not that I would like my phone to suddenly call my managing director while being in my pants, though 😅

I always have doubts on putting glass over camera lens. Makes me think it would somewhat, alter the picture quality or something? There are some variants with holes over the lens etc though, I might opt that. Saw jerryrig's video and it doesn't seem the camera bar is that durable.
