How big is the condo? My 2 floor house around 3000 sqft also still have good coverage using a single router. The least speed around 200Mbps. Unless you have metal wall wink.gif

This sounds like the typical linked house (ie. those 22x70 ones), it’s the whole landarea. Means the living/room area is way smaller then that, it only seems “bigger” because got 2 floor - and for the purpose of this topic, yes the router can cover it, since its omni-directional with a set radius.

I have one unit of condo 2800sq.ft, and have to place my router near a wall for cosmetic purposes(hidden), and i couldn’t get good coverage at dry kitchen. When i masuk wet kitchen, just 1 bar.

To TS, just get asus AI mesh, easy to set up, no fuss. What model/price point - you ownself see what fits you.

more important thing for mesh is make sure you get a triband. one of the bands will be use for backhaul. if you dont have this, speed will be half at the nodes

as for brands - asus for me.

E4 LAN Port is only up to 100Mbps.
If 300Mbps or 500Mbps not suitable.
Suitable for 100Mbps and below.

The product page got mention is 10/100Mbps LAN Port.
Tenda cannot comment as I never use.
Mercusys is the same company as TP-Link.
Subrand of TP-Link.

It is a semi-D and it is a build-up area not including land. It depends on the router you buy. Two floor is even more challenging because the floor is is concrete bar. The normal brick wall is easier to penetrate. Well, it depends on what you have inside the house.

I also bought Asus thinking that I could upgrade to mesh later because of Asus flexibility. However, it ended up that my speed test upstairs with door closed is still around 200Mbps even with 5GHz. The router was located near front wall besides TV.

Although Asus has a mesh set, you don't need to buy the set. Can select many model that support mesh and they do not have to be same model to my knowledge. Add mesh unit upon requirement.
