Quite a lot have been written regarding engaging financial planners and most of it have been quoted from overseas sources with no actual benefit data from real experiences.
*
FIRE..a 4 letter word, over used but at my age, i still dont get it. It means differently to each individual. I can only relate it to my own sorroundings.

1. Neighbour, both Doctorates with US Degrees, chose to retire early 50s, now early 60s. Survive on their pensions, still paying house(s) installments.
2. Relative ard 40s of another neighbour. Kids in primary school. Jobless n works at his place of worship. Room n daily expenses depend on the well wishers.
3. Neighbour, ard late 40s, mechanic with multiple properties n cars, that comes over at weekends, was gifted an orchard.
4. Neighbour, ard mid 50s, 5-6 cars construction biz, multiple properties, still work by meeting customers/ RFQ n handover to son run daily operations.
5. Neighbour, Chairman of MNC, retired at 65 yo, died within 6 months of retirement. Collapsed while exercise.
6. Office, Mgr ard mid 40s drives a Macan, BMW, Bentley Continental, with factories net worth (?) prefers to work. Cant stay at home to face MIL.
7. My mentor, late 60s, worked till 63 yo although net worth likely >10x mine. His phylosophy, why stop working before Govt mandated age? Any reasons?
8. Personally, based on stats from MUM, im classifies as part of the 0.2%. I continue to pray hard to strike 4D, enjoys working as it stimulates my senses, occupies my time structure n during pre covid period was the biz cum pleasure travels.

Dont really understand which of them excudes or embodies FIRE. Maybe, its a generational aspiration among the younger folks.

Hmm, so when forumers talk FIRE with RM5-6M cash, im quite in awe of their temperance.

In conclusion, i, for one believe we cannot explain FIRE thru science of investment..reason be, greed is not a financial issue, its a heart issue.

P/S. Dont beat me up...raining n couldnt go out plus ran out of free fuel for my online Wargame, unker just passing time writing some nonsense. Pls disregard.
Back to my game now. Tq

Trying to understand what range of realistic acquired annual fixed passive income (assumption kwsp 5.5%; asmx 4.0%; sspn 3.0%) ..putting stocks aside vs mental/emotional well being.
A. $80-100K
B. $100-120K
C. $120-160K
D. $160-200K
E. >$200K

Pls dont short sell the medical profession, most become doctors for the nobility n personal promises of building a better society.
Along the way, some get rewarded for their expertise n service.

Bekum doctor not easy. Alot of stress involved. They get compensated well it's deserving

Most doctors are underpaid

Bekum TikTok star earn even more than doctor

Young man, everyone has a choice, just ruff it out & improve your skills/employability.

If education n intelligence are only factors to become millionaires, then yes likely Astronauts, Neuro surgeons, Astro physicists will be more successful than mere doctors.

Shake off the negativity. You think labourers like Unker, no stress n not overworked meh? I oso have a role in this society.

So sad, endowed with the education, yet...sigh!

Bro Guy, you very busy penning your thoughts.
Unker up early, going prayers.

But i was very eager to read fellow forumers reaction to my Social Experiment. Syabas, you responded!

Back to young doctor case...
There are 3 stages of education.
1. From parents
2. From the lecturers and admission interviews...of why becoming a doctor; and oath of becoming a doctor.
3. From the World

Point 2 itself,...any gifted person will know its not a 9-5, nor smelling roses in tne park profession.
Point 3...is facing the realities of responding to medical situation n life/death decisions.

Forumers can choose to respond to the young doctor in couple of ways....be it pity, empathy, sympathy, compassion, generosity or even fatherly love (in your case)....while Unker chose Hard/Tough Love.

As Unker has stated from the beginning....its a noble profession.

My soul mate is still in this world, thanks to a doctor. 3 weeks of symptoms (weak hands, headache) and finally collapsed by market roadside. A heart surgeon drove past n resusitated her. The doctor never complained his weekend marketing was interrupted to save a patient. My soul mate has since resigned from her hi pay private occupation (pay cut - shes has a Double Degree n creamed her Masters) to join as a Snr Mgr in MOH, as a form of pay back to Society.

My 90 yo old fell n fractured her shoulder bone this 1st day cny. The doctors/nurses at A&E were professional n accomodating. None complaining underpaid, need to work cny, etc. Agreed Unker paid for in private hospital.

So, its a matter of perspective...its a very tough n stressful profession...but yet rewarding in many aspects be it spiritually, financially and as my gynae doctor friend elegantly describes it "some of the most beautiful women will pay me top $$$ to examine their pussies".

All good banter, old friend....but i still think labourers like myself, have somewhat equal stress, but thats for another time n story.

Bro Guy, A short term pain, long term gain.

For sure, for those successful doctors, their salary will rise exceeding other professions.

Go anywhere n ask if general public has empathy on a doctor's salary?

To me, we can similarly debate on most other professions.

Cheers!

A group of Uncles walked up onto the open stage, the bright Sunday sun cast a majestic glow onto their faces. They gathered to deliver a monologue about a young man named Aaron. Next turn was a young Uncle filled with emotion, and his words flowed like a river as he began to speak.

'Aaron, a young man who dared to dream, to improve, to change the medical world. A man, who, like other young bright students, was not content to simply make obsene amount of money, but to leave a mark, a legacy, a message. He saw beyond the boundaries of the intellectual world and dared to forge a new path where medical practitioners can earn enough to keep the flame of innovation burning.' Uncles voice was filled with passion n conviction, and the forumers were held in silence.

'So, I stand here before you all, to each of you kind sirs n madams as a witness, a testament to the power of a dream, be it the child of a stranger and not just your own, a reminder of the impact one young Malaysian can potentially have on the world. I stand here to pay homage and implore you to spread the message out to our Country Leaders, to honor the contributions n needs to provide step wise improvements to this medical profession, as well as and others. The Leader to honor this needs will ensure his name's to be always remembered n will live on, forever etched in the hearts of future recipients as a true visionary.

And with that, all the Uncles stepped down from the podium and dispersed, their monologue was over. Aaron and all the young bright men like Aaron would never be forgotten, inspiring future generations to come...for the mean time, they have to be strong...as a Musang King durian tree grown from grafted cultivars starts blooming from 7-10 years, but some special ones have been known to be sooner!!!

10 million cannot retire lar... all that idiot can achieve is 40K rm per month of passive income doing nothing...
40K rm per month just cannot cut it....  what if suddenly need to take first class flight to USA to eat at the most expensive restaurant and then fly back?

plus 40K rm will soon be worth only 8K usd per month. that is barely living standard in Dubai or Manhattan...

Somemore the 10 million need to adjust based on inflation.... cos by 10 years time, it is worth only 5 million today's money.
There you go, I helped whomever the somebody already with all the excuses...
