Hi sifus,
I am thinking of getting a 2nd-hand Asus ROG laptop to play a bit. I saw this model on Shopee recently - ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 GA401II-R75TA8G; but googling a bit showed that this is an Indonesian model.

The specs seem legit, however it also mentions that it still has 1-year warranty from Asus - even if it's from Indon it should cover MY given that most are international warranty I hope, but does anyone if it's possible to change the names in the warranty if the laptop has changed hands? If it's really an Indon model, might need to change the power adapter to MY version (not sure how much it costs)?

Think it's worth it?

i feel that second-hand laptops are like cars, u never know what's the actual condition until few weeks later. i rather play it safe and get a new one when there's discount (10.10 sales approaching: https://shopee.com.my/acer_os_my)

You didn't mention the price. So I looked at Shopee and only got one result for used R75TA8G

⚠ RM572 blink.gif
⚠ Ryzen 7 4800HS, NVMe 512GB, 16GB, GTX1650Ti, IPS 100% sRGB
⚠ 2 months old seller
⚠ "10/10 condition" but super cheap full set
⚠ "Order via whatsapp only"

IF this is the exact product that you're looking for, don't you think this is too good to be true? This can be either a stolen laptop (which is kinda fine I guess...), or a scam. I bet it's a scam. At this point I wouldn't think too much about warranty or even power adapter..

Hi both, thanks for your feedback. Yes, that is the one that I saw, and the price IS really tempting. It's just that knowing Asus, despite the 10.10 promo I don't think there's any real discounts out there (or at least that cheap). But agreed that it's too good to be true, then better to steer clear from these things. Thanks again.

Roll the dice and give us a few minutes of entertainment if you do receive a proper G14 or if you lose your money.

Ah haha. Given that every ringgit that I have is hard-earned, better to be safe than sorry I suppose.

You need to confirm there is international warranty for it. Another thing is the Windows licensing, make sure it is not FreeDOS.

Getting an used set can be tricky because you never know is there any service record logged.

When you see this kind of "too good to be true" item posted on online platform, just look at the seller's name if the name for e.g like exakgadfri or xskgahokg which can't be speak correctly just save your time as most probably just another online scammer.
