Guys,my friend has offered me to buy modded wii set us with the particular items and 10 free games for rm1550(negotiable),is this price considerable?

Mostly Malaysia's gaming retailers will take any opportunity to utilise customer and earn as much as possible.
So any consoles can be overpriced if compared to overseas especially China.

You can pay only rm 9xx-1k to obtain a wii modded jp in china.
I think there is slight increment for wii us there.

US console is more expensive because it comes with wii sport.
All consoles are region locked,meaning if you're using a ntsc us wii,you can only play ntsc us games,you can't play ntsc jp or pal games.Remember if you are using wiikey or any mod chips in your wii,you have to be aware when playing Super Mario Galaxies,because when wii read it,it will ask you to update before commence,and this updater is very tricky,it will brick your wii if you are playing PAL SMG using NTSC wii or vice versa.Once your wii is bricked,it is forever useless(no solution yet).

When buying modded wii,there are many things to be considered first.
For example,wiikey team is gone and not releasing update since 1.9g,their website has been down for almost 3 weeks,so it is pathetic.Nobody knows if nintendo will put the same protection in future wii games.So i would recommed you not to get wii modded with wiikey.

However,the new wii has been released and it is equipped with d2c chip.
Wii cannot be installed in d2c chip and people are basically using d2ckey to modify it.
In my point of view,d2ckey works fine but there is a very dangerous problem-the website has no forum and no patches are released yet.People say that d2ckey isn't updatable but if you want to update,it requires you to dissect the wii and do something on the d2ckey,so you would have to send it to programmers.Although d2ckey team claim that d2ckey is updatable,there is no solid evidence to prove their statement yet.

Ps:d2ckey has 32 wires and it is very delicate because if the soldering is not done well/ wires are not connected properly or loose,the d2ckey won't work.You won't be able to read backups and some people say they aren't able to read originals too.So you should send to a professional to do the soldering.

Then,argon from infectus team is released.It comes with all features that all d2ckey offers but they are more advanced as there are 13 wires only and it is UPDATABLE using infectus2 (argon---cable---infectus2---usb---pc).This jtag programmer will enable you to update the firmware and the entire logical work in the argon,so if nintendo intends to do something detrimental to modchips,they will be able to update the argon to a so-called brand new modchips.For more details,google infectus.And now,it has been launched,people got the argon,installed and found lots of freezing problem in many games,and it is not region-free(the moderator said it is not implemented yet).Maybe the first batch of argon have bad firmware,and now the problems in argon seem would be solved by the patch which will be released next week.What is bad and atrocious about argon is that.........IT DOES NOT fully WORK AS ADVERTISED.

Argon is the latest mod chip,and probably the most advanced.

wiikey is for old wii.New wiis come with d2c chip.So d2ckey or argon chip can be used only.
Many retailers here sell wii modded with d2ckey.D2ckey works perfectly well at the moment,so it is advisable.However,people find that d2ckey cannt be updated like wiikey by using dvd,i think it can be updated through jtag programmer.So far there are not patches released by d2ckey team yet,probably because it works flawlessly.

All modchips are made to play backups and enable region free,meaing you can play imported games(pal game on ntsc wii).For super mario galaxies,when the modded wii read it,you will have to run an update(3.0 v wii)in order to get the game run,so users that are unaware of bricking and because they play jp version super mario galaxies on us wii(or any other version on different region console),and the us wii is updated with jp wii patch,so their wii are bricked.

So it is better to play same region game,in case to prevent tragic

both have the protection(patch) ,so be wary of this,dont play jp version on us wii or us version on jp wii.(i mean only super mario galaxies and metroid prime,normally all other games are alright.)

I'm also going to buy wii soon,but i have to ask my friend whether they worth their price or not

Argon has made an update to fix the freezing problem already.You will need a jtag programmer call infectus which can be bought online to do the updating.

I would still go for d2ckey at the moment as it works flawlessly.
D2ckey team said the reason they don't release update because it works well.
I still believe it is updatable.

New wii comes with d2c chip and wiikey can't be installed there,only d2c modchip like argon,d2ckey,d2cpro can be used.For wii fit,i don't really know but i think it is possible to read wiifit in modded console as it makes your wii region free.

There is a way to know which chip you are using,open up your wii and look at the chip.

I probably will have made the payment by tomorrow,it costs me rm1700 with postage fee(standard us package modded with d2ckey).
The price now is probably getting higher and higher,sometimes i do think they are overpriced.

If you don't have soldering skill,you definitely will find a professional to install for you,it has 32 wires,so you figure out the cost.

I have seen people say there are ways to determine whether wii is new batch or old batch,perhaps by looking at the serial,ask people in d2ckey forum,they will help you as people there are very active.

What is the cheapest price for nunchuck and wiimote?

It is definitely safe to do online updating.
However,you are not advised to play different region SMG,metroid prime 3,mario strikers charged on your console as you are tempted to run an update before going on,if you do so,your wii is going to be bricked(not working anymore).
All mod chips have stealth mode,it is not easy to detect them,so it is pretty safe.

Since the release of SMG,many people' wii are completely devastated as theirs are region free(they used to play different region games and were unaware of new protection nintendo create in smg,they ran the update,in case a installed a japanese patch in a us console,so bricked)

Don't worry,just don't run the update in certain games like smg and metroid.it is certainly fine if same region.

i know there are lots of way to know which modchip you are using,but im not really clear.
one of the way is to play supermariogalaxy(same region) and see it works or not.

go to find the topic about working game using d2ckey and try them out yourself.

i haven't got yet...last time my dad nearly bought for me,but my mom stood out and reprimanded me,saying i'm spendthrift and so i was rooted and silenced.But i'm still determined and finally have convinced my mother,and now i'm waiting my father to make payment by bank in,but dono when will he pay,i think most probably due to financial constraint at the moment,so i will wait.

i promise my mom that wii is the last console i would buy,all others will be bought using my money

im completely ignorant about soldering,so i won't take risk to do it myself.
If there is any misfortune happening to my wii,there are still ways to rectify them.
supporting genuine products is everyone's duty ,however,due to financial constraint,i have to be more thrifty,so i have got to modify it.

in other countries,it is hard to get pre-modded wii,but in msia,it is pretty easy,so i am really thankful to them.

Last year,i bought my ndsl from nintendo counter in jusco and paid rm1230 with 3 games in hand.After playing them for a few months,my bro got me a flashed ndsl from his friend ,i found them completely same as the genuine one,so it really doesn't matter.the difference is merely the poor and the rich.If i were to be rich,i would have bought all genuine products,if i were to be poor,i have no choice but to buy "backups"

for older wii,they are modded with wiikey,i think it's cheaper compared to the d2c chip wii.
i have asked one of my friend and she offered me rm1550 for wii modded with wiikey.
But the price now ranged from 1650 to 1700 for standard modded us package (d2ckey).

wiikey is working well,but wiikey team has been away for a few weeks(his website is dead),so i'm afraid no future updates will be released.In addition,wiikey can only be installed in old chip which is d2b,that's why mostly all of the wii that are modded now are equipped with d2ckey,just because they are using d2c chip.

d2ckey costs $61.50,i have no idea how much will it cost if you employ someone to solder the modchip for you.

wiikey is for old wii and d2ckey is for new wii.

You can't change it to d2ckey but there are many other modchips for old wii like cyclowiz,wiifree,wiinja

yo,i couldn't agree with you more.
there are many games that i'm interested,especially tennis ,gonna try it on wiisports.
Medal of honour heros 2 can be played using wifi,i think it can be very exhilarating since it is fps...gotta try ghost squad also...i haven't actually played RE 4 and RE 1 in ps/ps2 ,so gotta try out them in wii,in fact i'm afraid of those horror scenes.

I find super paper mario is very exciting although it requires you to play with d-pad.

No more heroes seems very interesting to me,i hope i could get it in local stores soon.

there is a very fascinating rpg game released by nintendo namely Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn ,try it out
