Pelajar sekolah yang belum menerima vaksin Covid-19 atau menolak untuk divaksin tidak akan dihalang daripada menghadiri kelas mereka, kata Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan Mah Hang Soon.

Bercakap pada sidang media hari ini, Mah mengatakan keputusan itu diambil kerana setiap pelajar mempunyai hak untuk mendapatkan pendidikan.

"Tak ada sebab untuk kita menolak atau tak benarkan mereka balik ke sekolah.

"Cuma kita akan adakan kaunseling dan sebagainya khususnya pada ibu bapa mereka.

"Sebab seseorang murid itu kalau enggan vaksin biasanya bukan pada murid sendiri tapi lebih pada (keputusan) ibu bapa," katanya.

Mah berkata demikian ketika menjawab soalan mengenai apakah Kementerian Pendidikan telah memutuskan perkara itu.

Menurut Mah, pihaknya percaya bahawa hanya sebilangan kecil pelajar yang tidak bersedia menerima vaksinasi atau menolaknya.

"Kita masih di tahap awal untuk memvaksinasi pelajar sekolah. Jadi pada ketika ini, kita tidak pasti berapa banyak yang menolak untuk divaksin.

vaccinated parent still has higher risk compare to kids, most kids that kena covid usually only fever 1 day then recover.

If employers force their staff to get vaccinated, but then still kena shut down when got covid outbreak, then what is the point of forcing their staff to vaccinate?

Yeah, and for the staff who are young, their risk of dying or hospitalization is super low.

And vaccinated or unvaccinated, still need to follow SOP. That's the most important thing.
