Hi all sifus,

I would like to know do we use oil based paint or water based paint to repaint back the zinc plates on top of our house roof?
Those zinc plates are the ones that protect the water from leaking into the house roof that are installed at the edge of the roof tiles.

Waterproofing membrane such as SikaCoat Cool 300 will be better. There's white and grey. If colour is required, then a coat or 2 of roof paint such as Jotun Jotaroof. This if you want long lasting results.

Eerr, i think u went overboard there. I only want to paint back the galvanized zinc plates on the roof top only. Not all the ceramic roof tiles.

Indeed, I'm talking about the roof flashing. As it's exposed to the sun, neither solvent based or water based paint can last. Only UV-resistance paint can last. I did the same with all my clients.

If you just want a simple refresh, roofing paint is better.

I think i will just jump straight to retouching the paint that are peeled off on the galvanized zinc plates with Jotun Jotaroof.
Is 15 litre is standard size? Any smaller ones ar? cuz my area to cover it are only very small.

1L, 5L and 15L

Usually, if there's no primer, it might peel off.
