Apple Might Mouse specs

Yes I know the Mighty Mouse has been around since 2005, but I want to open a thread for users who use this mouse on a Desktop PC!

I have to say, it is not as fast as those gaming mouse but it sure does have its own style and functions. I used it to do my Maya and oh my, the scrolling was really a wonderful experience. You know how normal mouse's scroll has that 'notch' thing, somethings with every notch you scroll more than you want to? Well the mighty mouse solves that with gradual scrolling.

And did you know, that the mighty mouse has 5 buttons in total? drool.gif Haha.. bet you didn't know. It has left right, right click, middle mouse, and 2 other side buttons (which are the grip parts)

To fully utilize your Apple Mighty Mouse on Windows, you need to download these two drivers.

DRIVERS:
XMouse
AppleMProUSB
There're 2 utilities - XMouse and AppleM Pro USB - can make Mighty Mouse fully funtional in Windows XP.
XMouse gives you the abilitiy to customize the function of MM side-button,
and AppleM Pro USB makes the scroll ball scroll vertically and HORIZONTALLY
(Info taken from Neowin.net)

Retail Price:
Wireless Mighty Mouse = RM279
Wired Mighty Mouse = RM209
(with reference to CG Computers)

But I think it you should be able to get it cheaper elsewhere... try maybe Lowyat.

Quite pricey eh sweat.gif

Haha cool~

I just started to use a Mac (it was a iMac G4) like last 2 years when I realised my gf had one. Played around with it. What I really like about the Mac is that it just works right out of the box. And best is, although the Mac is quite old, it can still play games/run software that is quite current. Unlike PC where almost every year or two have to changed graphic card or something because requirements keep increasing sweat.gif

But anyway back to the mouse. I just feel that its so cool that finally there is a two button mouse by Apple. Now people can use it for Windows too rclxm9.gif

check the spec sheet of the mighty mouse

http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/specs.html

wireless only works with OS X 10.4.8 or higher while the wired version works with xp(i presume vista as well) and also OS X

This statement is invalid la.. sweat.gif doh.gif

Any computer machine also need to be upgraded sooner or later. Do you realised that macbook pro? Now using Santa Rosa platform and equipped with 8600GT mobile. That's technology trend. I bet later next year (2008) macbook pro will use penryn processor which support SSE4. So, it depend on yourself that whether you need to upgrade or not

And for your info, do you think those high-end games can support mer if your mac machine is the older version? You still require to upgrade which is GET A NEW mac machine. whistling.gif

But I am talking really based on experience because I was using a G4 with only 1Ghz cpu.. graphic card also dunno what. But I download quite a recent game and it did not lag. I was really shocked. Of course its not a very high requirement game but for a very old pc to play a recent game.. thats pretty good smile.gif

Anyway back to the mighty mouse, I realised the sensitivity is not that well.. some surfaces it cant respond well.

Well I've got the Logitech VX wireless mouse and it's not too bad, but then I don't like the receiver occupying one of my USB ports. Can someone just come up with a bluetooth mice that looks good and works seamlessly with Mac?

Hows the might mouse?
I contemplated to get it for design wise, but heard my friend saying your paying a lot for something you wouldn't get used to.

I'm using a regular optical mouse, but i may need a wireless mouse soon, its about $89 auz for a wireless might mouse

u are god dman wrong
it's 3 buttons (1 + 2 at both sides)

mighty mouse is running on sensors which will sense which particular position your finger on, then it will perform your desire clicking

Bought a wired mighty mouse but gave it to my daughter who uses it on a PC. I'm using Microsoft LaserMouse instead smile.gif
