Hi everyone, since my family cancelled Astro a few years ago, both the TVs have been sleeping and not been used. Both were Samsung LED and it had speaker issue plus the screen had one long line at one corner. Don't know if it is worth repairing or just keep as a computer monitor.

Thinking to get a replacement of Astro but i need something that is easy for them to use. I know there are many Android boxes out there but it might be a little complicated for them.

Therefore, what do you guys use for your parents to watch?

Either u buy Amazon or SVI-Cloud also OK.
Plug n play. No need install additional programme. Unless u want too, they can support. Amazon I'm not so sure.

I assume you are looking for a traditional TV viewing experience.

If you using Unifi broadband, Unifi PlayTV is almost similar like traditional TV. I think you can install it on selected TV box. You can get more details in thread below:

If not, just go for MYTV freeview channel. It is free. Maybe need to spend a bit on decoder and indoor antenna.

If your place can't get freeview signal, then Njoi.

It seems like ur parent dont really watch tv that much. Why dont you just install MYTV jee. It should be enough for them and its not complicated at all.

Recommend the new SviCloud 8P. I got all the Astro channels and more. The most important thing is as long as you have good broadband, it plays superbly. Testing with all Astro channels including Astro sports4. Silky smooth during the live session.

buy Xiaomi Mi box S, subscribe TVB anywhere+ for RM19.90, buy air mouse remote control if App is unfriendly to remote control.

Parent happy can watch TVB until eye bleed.

Been using EVPad for a few years now.
Okay so far.
Easy to use for the elderly.
But live TV is sometimes unable to watch, or bad audio or no HD.
