hi all, is there any way to block or prevent tracking cookies stored on my computer? everytime i have to scan with ad-aware then will be able to delete it, but scanning takes too much time.

Tracking cookies are not that different than normal cookies. Your best bet is to blacklist them with software like AdMuncher or AdBlock Plus. Or just disable cookies altogether.

if i disable the cookies, will it distrupt my normal surfing activities? i think i will logged out automatically when i check email or surfing forum, right?

By disabling tracking cookies, you may not be allowed certain functions of the website you are surfing. On top of that cookies are also used to track and configure your personal preferences on a certain sites. overall no major disruptions but still there will be some inconveniences.
Most major tracking cookies used include site visitor trackers such as statcounter and google analytics to track how many hits, from where how you click the link. If i'm not wrong, Yahoo also embeds cookie to remember usernames and password stores9correctme if i'm wrong).

Actually cookies doesn't really impose a high risk threat to you, so why bother in the first place actually? Don't be a paranoid.

Ditto on that. Frankly, tracking cookies, cookies and the rest of the pastries should not bother you. If you get something like a TROJAN, BACKDOOR, WORM, SPYWARE, POPUP etc, please be worried. I have Capitalized the few important words that you should take notice, no offense.

google uses cookies, to track and log all of ur surfing behavour, in there db. This can then be requested by companies or governments to add target. Or target u for software piracy. Or even investigate u for suspected terrorisom etc.

I am sure other companies do the same.

So cookies are not entirley harmless and should be deleted on a regular basis. If u r using Firefox - just set the clear private data option to clear everytime u close firefox. IE has a similar function but u have to run it manually.

I might have to agree to what The_Lestat said about clearing private data. But then, that is part of safe surfing habits. So, it should have been done often, not until a scan tells you to.
