Hi, I have bought a monitor that can connect to my laptop to create a second screen. The purpose is to view different contain and play different recording on both laptop and new monitor by plug-in 2 different earphone. However, I realized the monitor does not have speaker so I bought an external new speaker but the speaker has 2 wires, the USB (to get current)and the another one is ear phone type plug-in (to transmit sound). Again, it does not have port available to plug it to my monitor. The only port left at the back of the monitor is VGA port. Any solution to enable me to connect the speaker that I have so that I am able to heard different video at the same time?

QUOTE(rocketm @ Sep 15 2021, 04:48 PM) Any solution to enable me to connect the speaker that I have so that I am able to heard different video at the same time? What do you mean diff video at the same time? All from same laptop, right? Just plug to the laptop audio jack la. If you play 10 video at the same time, all the audio will come out from the same audio port.

In this case, am I able to play different video independently with sound come out from headphone/speaker?

vga port for displaying video only.
for sound, it still rely on your device which is the laptop. whichever video you choose to play, sound will still come out from your laptop 1 video 1 sound from your laptop 2 videos playing = 2 sound sources from your laptop etc etc
get the idea?

I think what TS want is
1 set speaker play only laptop screen video sound.
another set speaker play only monitor video sound.
split screen yes can be done, but split sound? Hmmm...

Interesting.. IF TS monitor interface is HDMI with build in speaker, (split screen )playing a video. the audio from the speaker is only from the video? And on main screen play another video with stereo head phone jack in(will it only play the main screen audio?) Hmmm.... simple answer get another PC.
